The revenue collection agency,
Namra, has announced that from 1 March 2023, all second-hand vehicles will be required to transit through Namibia when on a car carrier trailer.

"No second-hand motor vehicle will be allowed to transit on its own wheels," a Namra notice says.

The notice was issued in accordance with government notice no 403 published by government gazette.

The agency says this is an amendment to the customs and excess rules of designation of entry.

A staff from the environment ministry, along side three others, were arrested on suspicion of illegally hunting a blue wildebeest in Dan Viljoen Park near Windhoek, the environment and tourism ministry has said.

According to the ministry's PRO, Romeo Muyunda, the arrest occurred on Tuesday at a roadblock between Dan Viljoen and Windhoek.

“The ministry condemns the incident particularly, the alleged involvement of a staff member,” said Muyunda.

He said the ministry is disturbed by the incident and that it condemns the alleged involvement of a staff member.

Muyunda said they always encourage staff to observe high moral grounds and reject temptations like participating in illegal activities.

“We urge that law should take its course and justice must prevail in this case.”
