CUC MEETING HOLDS AT LAGOS SECTOR COMMAND AS UNIT 108 LEKKI DONATES SIX WALL FANS FOR THE SECTOR PE HALL

Today, the Lagos State Special Marshals Committee of Unit Coordinators (CUC) Meeting was successfully held at the Lagos Sector Command, Ojodu.

Despite the ongoing fumigation exercise within the Sector Command premises, members demonstrated their usual commitment and dedication by convening at the parade ground under canopies, ensuring that the meeting proceeded without interruption.

The Lagos State Coordinator, SM (Dr.) Olabisi O. Dennis, addressed members on key issues relating to the welfare, administration and operations of the Special Marshals. He also provided clarifications on matters of concern and emphasized the need for discipline, commitment, teamwork and strict adherence to established guidelines in the discharge of our responsibilities.

A special appreciation goes to SM Victor Ngwu, Unit Coordinator of Unit 61, who generously provided and sponsored the canopies and the Chairs used for the meeting. His support contributed significantly to the success of the gathering.

The Lagos State Sector Commander, CC Kehinde Ganiyu Hamzat made a brief stop over at the meeting and commended the Lagos State Special Marshals for the huge support given to the Corps in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

The meeting also featured a presentation by representatives of Leadway Assurance Limited, who introduced their insurance package to members, explaining its benefits and responding to questions from participants.

In another commendable gesture, Unit 108, Lekki, donated six (6) wall fans to the Lagos State Sector command to support efforts aimed at improving the working environment. The State Coordinator sincerely appreciated the Unit Coordinator and members of Unit 108 for this thoughtful contribution.

The event further provided an opportunity to celebrate members who marked their birthdays in August. The celebrants were honoured amidst joy and camaraderie, with the cutting of a birthday cake adding colour to the occasion.

The Lagos State Coordinator extends his heartfelt appreciation to all Unit Coordinators for their attendance, active participation and unwavering support. Together, we will continue to strengthen the Special Marshals and advance our shared vision of service, safety and excellence.

The meeting ended on a good note as every issue was attended to by the State coordinator and the SDER Staff,CRC Omogbai Vitalis.

SPECIAL MARSHAL DONATES RENOVATED TOILET FACILITY TO FRSC EPE UNIT COMMAND

The Lagos State Coordinator of the Special Marshals, RS2.1 Lagos, SM (Dr.) Olabisi O. Dennis, has commended SM Jonah Okoukoni and Extremegrace Cleaning and Pest Control Limited for donating and renovating a three-unit toilet facility at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Epe Unit Command.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony held on Friday, September 4, 2026,Dr Olabisi Dennis who happens to be the National PRO for the Pest Control Association of Nigeria (PECAN), the Managing Director/CEO of Fumigaclean Limited and the Lagos State Coordinator for Special Marshals described the project as a remarkable demonstration of leadership, responsibility, and commitment to the ideals of the Special Marshals Scheme.

According to him, the intervention reinforces the belief that meaningful change begins with individuals who are willing to take action and contribute positively to society. He noted that the project goes beyond infrastructure development, as it provides a cleaner, healthier, and more conducive environment for officers, Special Marshals, and visitors to the Command.

Dr. Dennis stated that the Special Marshals Scheme was established to complement the efforts of Regular Marshals in promoting road safety and saving lives, stressing that members are expected to contribute their time, expertise, and resources towards advancing the objectives of the Corps.

He disclosed that the project would be showcased as a model initiative during the forthcoming meeting of Unit Coordinators and Lagos State Executives, with a view to encouraging other units across the state to embark on impactful projects capable of leaving lasting legacies within their Commands.

The State Coordinator also congratulated the newly decorated Unit Commander, ACC Hussaini Haruna, under whose leadership the project was successfully completed, expressing optimism that more developmental projects would be attracted to the Command.

While encouraging the two Special Marshals Units in Epe Command to sustain the momentum and continue striving for excellence, Dr. Dennis appealed to community leaders, philanthropists, and corporate organizations in Epe to support the activities of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

He emphasized that the responsibility of promoting road safety and protecting lives on the highways requires collective effort and partnership from all stakeholders.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by officers and men of the Corps, Special Marshals, community leaders, and other distinguished guests.

FRSC REPOSITIONS 13 SENIOR OFFICERS IN STRATEGIC REDEPLOYMENT FOR GREATER OPERATIONAL IMPACT

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced a strategic redeployment of senior officers across its commands as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness, deepen institutional capacity and position the Corps for enhanced service delivery to Nigerians.

The redeployment, approved by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, affects 13 officers across various cadres and commands, including senior management and operational positions. The exercise is designed to inject fresh perspectives, leverage professional competencies and ensure that officers are deployed where their experience and capabilities can deliver the greatest institutional value.

Among the senior officers affected by the exercise are five Assistant Corps Marshals: ACM GO Omiko, PhD, formerly ACM Special Duties and External Relations (SDER), now ACM in charge of Operations Department, ACM EF Akinlade, MInstTA, formerly ACM Research, now ACM Command Administration and Strategy in Operations at the national headquarters Abuja, ACM JO Asaolu, PSC, MInstTA, formerly ACM Policy Advisory Unit, to take over as ACM Research; ACM MB Ibrahim, formerly ACM Special Marshals, now ACM SDER, RSHQ, and ACM FA Ogidan, formerly ACM (CAS), RSHQ Operations, now Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) RS10HQ, Sokoto.

The Corps Marshal described the movement as a normal feature of a dynamic organisation committed to continuous improvement, stressing that strategic deployment remains essential to building a responsive, agile and performance-driven road safety institution.

According to him, the FRSC must continuously optimise its human resources in line with emerging road safety realities and the changing demands of traffic management and enforcement across the country.

The redeployment also underscores the Corps’ commitment to professionalism, accountability, operational discipline and effective leadership, while ensuring that commands remain adequately positioned to respond to the evolving challenges of road transportation and road safety administration.
The affected officers have been directed to report to their new commands and assume duty with immediate effect, while ensuring a seamless and properly documented handing/taking over process.

The Corps Marshal charged the redeployed officers to regard their new assignments not merely as changes in location or responsibility, but as renewed opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the Corps’ mandate of reducing road traffic crashes and making Nigerian roads safer for all users.

He further urged them to bring to their new commands the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, innovation and commitment, noting that every posting is a call to greater responsibility and every assignment is an opportunity to make a measurable difference.

The Corps' leadership remains focused on building a stronger, more responsive and performance-oriented institution capable of delivering on its statutory mandate and advancing the national road safety agenda.

STATE EXCO VISITS BADAGRY COMMAND

On Saturday, 15th August 2026, the Lagos State Special Marshals Executives, led by the State Coordinator, SM Dr. Olabisi O. Dennis, paid an official visit to Badagry Command (RS2.11).

The State Exco joined members of the Command during the ongoing National Patrol before proceeding to a meeting with members and representatives of the Regular Marshals.

In her welcome remarks, the Command supervisor highlighted several achievements recorded by the Command, including infrastructural improvements and support initiatives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness.

Representing the Unit Commander, CRC Murutala, Head of Operations, commended the cordial working relationship between the Regular and Special Marshals and encouraged members to improve operational performance while assuring continued support for patrol activities.

Addressing members, the State Coordinator applauded the dedication and commitment of Badagry Special Marshals, describing the Command as one of the leading Commands in Lagos State. He encouraged members to remain professional, safety-conscious, and courteous in their interactions with motorists while sustaining the Command's high standards.

The visit also provided an opportunity for members to engage the State Executive on issues affecting operations and welfare, with assurances that concerns raised would receive appropriate attention.

A major highlight of the visit was the announcement of the appointment of SM Engr. Babalola Adeyemi as the new Command Supervisor for Badagry Command.

The State Coordinator appreciated the contributions of the immediate past Command Supervisor, SM Toyin for winning laurels for Badagry command during her time as the Command Supervisor and charged the new leadership to build on existing achievements and foster unity within the Command.

The visit reinforced the commitment of the Lagos State Special Marshals Executives to strengthening Command activities, enhancing collaboration with the Regular Marshals, and promoting excellence in service delivery across the State.
