KYLIAN MBAPPE: MORE AFRICANS RECONNECTING WITH THEIR ROOTS
The French striker Kylian Mbappe visited his African home in Cameroon to make a statement of identity.
Kylian's father Wilfried Mbappé left Cameroon at a young age to France, where he became a football trainer.
Mbappe’s trip to the central African nation came amidst more Africans identifying with their roots. Blood, they say, is thicker than water. Everyone has got a root and history.
According to Manga Alfred,"Kylian Mbappe had to go back to the land of his ancestors. You know, every tree has roots, and at some point you have to return to your roots. So I think it was time and it's an auspicious moment for him to find himself at home. And I think that, without speculating, a lot will happen in his life after that”.
Back home, Mbappe was welcomed as a super star; he was commended for not forgetting his DNA. Every man in a dark skin originated from the sub-Sahara Africa. It is interesting to note that many more African-Americans are identifying with their roots lately, tracing their roots and planning final return to live in the only place where they will continue to remain as first class citizens.
SightAfrik will feature more Diaspora black people identifying with Africa and serve you documentaries of their return journey to where they truly belong!
