We are working on a Creative Map featuring Sail Cargo companies, Organic farmers, Small Producers and Fair Food hotspots around the world to facilitate relationships between Ships and Local Producers.

Ahoy!

It’s been a while since the last time we posted something on social media, but silence on here doesn’t necessarily correspond to stillness in real life! And be sure we haven’t been still at all.

We just realised the magnitude of this vision we had, the importance to make it right, and the profound interest and need people have shown for it. With humbleness and acceptance we understood and admitted we weren’t ready, yet. So we focused on gathering the forces, skills, experience, and knowledge needed instead.

This project is very much alive, bubbling and fermenting as never before!

As much as a seed needs to wait for the propitious conditions to sprout, the same is happening for us. The potential still remains, and we’re working to secure a flourishing future for a project we strongly believe in.

Many things have happened during this time, so many we don’t even know where to start…

So, for now, let us introduce you to our current core team, Giulia, our founder, and Shani, who has joined as co-founder.

Both spent the summer sailing, provisioning and cooking together onboard Tres Hombres, sharing not only the galley but also the same vision and wishes for this project based on common ethics, values and ideals about food systems and supply chains.

Shani jumped eagerly onboard this venture and is committed to making it a reality. She had the pleasure of hosting the first public presentation of the FWFN during the gathering in Cornwall last month, which was received with much enthusiasm and support by the other participants.

Giulia is currently sailing for the winter and is working hard as always to broaden her horizons of experience whilst collecting more contacts and valuable insight for the needs of such a provisioning network.

At present, we don’t have the capacity to sustain a consistent social media schedule, but we are still here, busy as bees doing all we possibly can to present you something concrete in the near future. The potential is certainly there and we are now riding the next wave towards making this network a reality!

Ahoy!

We wished this would have been the day we would proudly launch our beautiful website but it won't be. The reason is that there is something else to announce:
🌬 WE ARE GOING SAILING! ⛵

Busy as in a beehive on board the engineless brigantine Tres Hombres preparing the ship and the journey, supporting the cook in her provisioning and organisation of the galley and dry store so we ran out of time to ultimate the construction of the platform we are designing. We prefer to focus on the present, real life and let simmer what's in the pot.

It was a sudden but fantastic proposal we received from .shipping who is fully supporting our project and wants to give us the chance to work on it while sailing cargo during their summer trip. A great opportunity we are very thankful for. Just the best we could wish!

We jumped on board with excitement since we'll be able sooner than expected to work on the field of this provisioning network which is growing its roots quietly, slowly but strongly in fertile soils. Lots has happened lately and soon we will be able to share more on here. For the moment, we just ride the wave and follow the fair winds!

We set sails today from Amsterdam and we will be sailing between Les Sables de Olonne (FR), Copenhagen, Bornholm (DN) and Cork transporting a cargo of fine french natural wines and crafty beers. In each port we will meet passionate food artisans and hunt fresh goodness and local deliciousness. You'll explore their worlds and dive in their stories through a series of portraits that you'll find in the network directory and on the interactive map we're working on and we will happily share soon on our website.

We like to imagine that as much as it takes a whole village to grow up a child, you need an entire community to weave a network. If you want to be part of a growing community of food lovers, dedicated and committed farmers and producers of all sorts, salty sailors and wanderers of the earth and you want to blow us contacts of humans we should meet on the way, please feel free!

Ahoy!
We've been quiet in here over the last weeks but we are in full fermenting process! Silence is not stillness and lots of transformations are happening. Open the jar and listen to the bubbles.. There's so much life inside!

We spend our days in a farm immersed in the Cornish countryside not far from the river and the sea. We discuss possibilities, we storm our brains with inspirational questions and solutions, we map our minds, we spread voices and share ideas, we ask for feedbacks and receive advices, we gather contacts, meet producers, write emails, make phone calls, fill pages and pages with notes, drawings and lists. Bit by bit we'll share it all.
Currently we're busy with exciting collaborations which are rising above the horizon, lots of computer work for the creation of the website, the network structure, its functioning and the good old boring and yet crucial admin...but also some fun stuff as the conception of the logo and some other tasty contents we hope you'll appreciate once they'll be cooked and served in smoking hot bowls for you to read and enjoy.

Grabbing a dream in the heart, converting it into an idea in the mind and bringing it to life in this world is not quite an easy task. Enthusiasm and passion aren't the only essential ingredients to provision when you undertake such journey.
This phase of set up is indeed a powerful experience for the two of us, with lots of space for creativity, imagination and growth. We're diving in the abyss of potential and digging in fertile soils of skills and knowledge, sowing ideas, watering our values and sometimes also feeling a little overwhelmed. It is part of the game. By challenging ourselves, we learn. We, as humans, together with this new born project, are growing. Building up networks and communities requires its time, exactly as for a sprout to give its fruits. From the seed to the harvest, the path is long and winding, as it is crossing an ocean. We, as the wise farmers and the good sailors, work at the pace of nature.
