Moving Tips
You may have already completed the purchase of you new home, but to start off the moving process you will need packing cases and other packing materials
We at White Van Man offer a wide range of quality cases and other packaging for you to use, including the hire of cases and wardrobe cartons, which are delivered free of charge in Amsterdam.
On the other hand you may wish to source your own materials, but please bear in mind that poor quality cases will often break and collapse when stacked,
possibly damaging the contents or lengthening the period of your move because of the need to repack.
We recommend that you order our professional packing service, but if you do decide to pack yourself, we offer the following advice:-
- Do not fill boxes to their maximum capacity and do not obstruct the hand holds.
- Use smaller size boxes for books and heavier items.
- Fragile items should be well protected with bubble wrap or paper.
- Try to pack room by room and label cases clearly; this will help you to quickly and efficiently unpack and locate your belongings in your new home.
Moving Day
Access for the removal van: you will need to think about how the van can access your current and future property, to advise your neighbours that the van will be parking outside your houses, and get any necessary permits.
If possible, it is best to keep all the packed cases together in one space where they will not block doors and windows that will be used for access.
To ensure that everything goes as planned with the removal team, it is important that you are present on moving day.
