Playa

El Bollullo is a gorgeous unspoiled natural beach in the scenic  Valley in the north of Tenerife.

The journey to this  beach may take a little time but it is well worth it – a hidden gem in a wonderfully secluded spot.

Narrow roads and pathways lined with banana plantations lead to the entrance of the beach, followed by steep steps that take you down to the large expanse of volcanic sand.

Unspoilt beaches and the most volcanic sand in the Canaries can be found close to La Orotava and Puerto Cruz.

Surrounded by beautiful banana plantations, narrow roads and steep steps make these beaches somewhat difficult to access.

Nevertheless, you are rewarded with beautiful bays, peaceful silence, majestic cliffs, soft sand, powerful ocean waves and of course stunning views over Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife.

The later it gets the more spectacular the light becomes and eventually sunset gives this beach a unique and special atmosphere. Downside (for some): no kiosk, no shower, basically nothing except nature.

To get here, you can either take a (rather long) walk from Puerto Cruz or drive by car and park close to Restaurant Bollullo Beach, El Rincon.

While Bollullo beach is easily accessible, be aware that the small path down to Los Patos beach is rather wild and definitely not for everyone (check the end of the video - and yes, that’s one of the „better“ segments of this path).

It might be a good idea to pack light and wear regular shoes rather than flip flops.

This is a sunrise in the beach of El Medano, located in the south of Tenerife. 🏝

El Médano will digital nomads and remote workers for a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle of some of the larger resorts on the south of the island. Mainly due to the windsurfers and hippie beach dudes, it has a bohemian feel. It can also be windy at times here, hence its popularity with windsurfers and kite surfers.

Working from home is great, gives you the flexibility to grab a cup of coffee from directly from your kitchen, wash clothes while you are working on a presentation, wait for parcels or workers while you are in meetings, sleep a bit longer as you leave your car in the garage only for the rides that matter.

But as you do this routine, it becomes monotonous, boring, and dull. Even worse than in the office because you lack of the human interaction you used to have in person meetings.

Sure, you can balance this by working from the office and from home from time to time. But this becomes difficult when you need to stick to schedules for work and personal lives. Humans like predictability with a dose of spontaneity. This could be done working from your base, either from home or the office, and dose it working from anywhere.

Work from the beach, mountains, desert. Get a digital job, Wi-Fi, and a laptop. Create that dose of spontaneity that you want for your life, working from anywhere. Before work go for a walk in the woods, at lunchtime go for a short swim in the beach and at night go to dance in that salsa beach club you checked out over the weekend.

All nice and dandy, but what about work?, are you stuck in a hotel room all day? This does not mean that you need to work alone again from an Airbnb In front of the beach. Work from coliving or coworking space to create new relationships, and create that routine that you have back home.

Coworking and Coliving spaces are THE place for digital nomads to be. They will meet other professionals, like-minded individuals, where you will build the relationships that you will need to create the wonderful stories of your new digital nomad life.

Book your coworking or coliving space in through us! Check in the links in our bio. :)

Let's take a look at the second-biggest city in Colombia, Medellín, and see why digital nomads are taking it as one of the places to remote work.

Word is getting out among digital nomads that Medellín is a good stop on the Latin American tour. The cost of living is low, the internet is reliable (very important), and the lifestyle is great.

Costs are so affordable, and overheads are low, so anyone who wants to really can figure out how to earn a living through his laptop here

Many come to Medellín thinking they will stay a few weeks or a few months and end up wanting to make the city a more permanent base. Luckily, Colombia offers a six-month tourist visa. This allows digital nomads to rotate in and out of the country, staying for up to six months at a time.

The real benefit of living in Medellín isn’t the low cost. That’s great, of course, but the real advantage is the high standard of living—nice apartments, nice restaurants, nice everything.

Normally, we focus on places that have sun all year long and have white sand beaches. Today we go to the north of Europe and make the case that Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, is a great place to work for digital nomads.

Thinking that you will be too cold? Iglusaunas & Igluoffices are here to save you, providing workspaces set by the sea, with saunas.

Short commutes. You don’t need to take a train for two hours to meet someone. In 20 minutes you can meet anyone here, grab a coffee, and go to work.

Network with the best. The ecosystem is small, all the famous guys, all the role models are accessible, so you can actually ask them for lunch and most of the guys are willing to come and talk to you, and share feedback.

Great WiFi. The internet infrastructure is so comprehensive that you could walk 100 miles from the city centre without losing wifi signal.

No Estonian, no problem. Contracts are in English, the gym is in English, all the government websites are in English too; that makes it so much easier for foreign people to come here.

Digital nomad visa – which launched in 2020 and allows location-independent workers to live in Estonia for up to a year – or e-residency, which in 2014 saw Estonia become the first country to allow foreigners to run a business in the country from anywhere in the world.

A huge number of us, digital workers, are working remotely in amazing places. As I write this, I am working from Panama. So nice to work with the sunshine in your face.

Some of us tell our bosses, some of us don't.

It tells a lot about the companies, managers, and employees. Lack of trust, flexibility and understanding that we can do everything we can do in our home anywhere in the world. Companies that do not adapt, will lose valuable talent in the months and years to come.

Read the stories from Frederick, Matthias, Rene and Manuela, that when working from home decided to take a trip to the other to a sunnier side and do their same incredible work.

Do you tell your boss when you are going to work remotely? If not, you can always blur your background. :)
