Did not feel like our last motorbike holiday 2026

The road towards Suleskar we drove many many years ago.

Suleskar was as expected busy with campers, luckily we could pass them.
Help a motorbike that had to avoid an incident and ended up in a ditch, luckily he and his motorbike were oke.

To celebrate our last ride for now, we stop for ice cream at Byrkjedalstunet.

Motoressie Went through the 77777 today.

Thanks to the very best Travel companions.

7 beautiful campsites
1 day of rain
2 ferries
Saw wildlife and amazing postcard riding
Found unknown roads
Visiting new places in this beautiful country we live in.

What we call a camping day, not that we didn’t leave the campsite, but we did not pack up our stuff and drove the the next one

We had a relax breakfast with fresh backed buns.
Then we drove around 20 min to visit the elg farm, https://www.viltgarden.no/

Parked the bike next to the ‘smallest’ camper we could find:)

Learning, feeding and petting them.
Yes we have seen them in the wild, but never this close.

The weather was almost to warm.
After spending a few hours at the elg farm we did a detour to Evje, buying some grocery before a relax afternoon, games, hammock and bbq.

Tomorrow it is the final morning of pack up for now.we driving the ‘long’ (detour) road back.

Hope not to see too many ‘bobils’

Day 9

Our last camping, not our last night
Weather was amazing, maybe at a moment even to warm.

Leaving the campsite this morning, we know we will be back.
Softestad camping is definitely on the list of our favourite campsites in Norway, the view and the size and the very very friendly host.
If you want to find something negative the facility building is a bit primitive and small, but clean and functional

Via Calimoto we found some lovely winding little roads of the main roads, were there are almost no other road users.

Started our day with 1 of the few cable ferries that Norway has.

We were earlier at the new campsite, run by Dutch, so a lot of yellow number plates.
Time to relax, bbq and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Taking the ferry from Moss-Horten.

27 years ago on our first vacation, 1 motorbike adventure, we t**e the same ferry.

Our lunch stop was perfectly time
The only very big rain/hailstone we could not avoid was at the moment we walk in to the MC-buffet hotel.

Our destination for this trip was Fredrikstad, the old town a Fortified town, like Bourtange.

It is beautiful town specially with the weather we had.
Found a geocache.

In the evening we had a lovely bbq.

If looking at the weather, you could see 1 rain/thunder cloud in the part of Norway where we are travelling
For a long time we could stay away from its,
But unfortunately after a few turn we had to stop to put on our rain gear.
Luckily we where and the edge of the rain clouds

Sun came back.

We played hide & seek with the rain showers today.

We managed to bypass most of them. We had our rain gear on in time for two heavy showers.

We visit the beautiful, really can recommend it, Kistefos.

Tomorrow we have a ‘camping -day’
Read a book, do the laundry, maybe visit a small town.

Full rain day, lucky our shortest drive.

Motoressie had her typical ‘I don’t like the rain’ sv650 issues.
We had a long lunch in nottoden.

The road are lovely bended.
But grateful the forecast for tomorrow is dry again.
