Limavatnet Lake is the perfect spot for a stop or spending the night after hiking Preikestolen.

BRIKSDAL GLACIER 🇳🇴 SAVE THIS FOR YOUR NORWAY ROAD TRIP 🧊

One of Norway’s most impressive glaciers is also the one you can get surprisingly close to without a serious hike.

Here’s what to know before you go 👇

📍 BRIKSDALSBREEN
It’s an arm of Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier in Norway.

🥾 THE WALK
The marked trail from Briksdal Fjellstove to the glacier is around 3 km one way and is considered an easy hike. Allow roughly 1–1.5 hours for the return visit, depending on your pace and stops.

🚙 DON’T WANT TO WALK THE WHOLE WAY?
Take a Troll Car. It takes around 10–15 minutes and leaves you about 700 m from the glacier, so you still get a short walk to the viewpoint. Great if you’re travelling with kids, older family members or simply short on time.

💧 WHY VISIT NOW?
Briksdalsbreen has changed dramatically. NVE records show the glacier retreated 1.2 km ❗️❗️❗️between 1900 and 2015, and it continues to respond to changes in climate.

✨ OUR TIP
Don’t rush back after seeing the glacier. The walk through Briksdalen is part of the experience, the waterfalls, dramatic cliffs and the valley itself make the journey just as impressive as the destination.

Postcards from Norway 🇳🇴

Trondheim - a beautiful city, with amazing atmosphere and numerous cozy cafes and restaurants ✨

We hoped to see some Northern Lights here, but unfortunately got a pretty nasty snow storm 😂 Thanks to that, the city was covered with a layer of white snow and turned into a true wintery postcard.

The best way to visit the city is simply to roam around the streets and discover its beauty unplanned.

Places you must see:
• Nidarosdomen - a breathtaking cathedral - it’s good to check online if there’s a concert 🎵
• Gamle Bybro - an old, red bridge leading to the old part of the city
• Kristiansten festning - a fortress located on a hill - a perfect spot for an evening walk and a perfect view point of the city
• Kristianstenbakken street - a street down to the city with typical, Norwegian architecture

2025 was a good year ☺️

We visited our friends and families in Poland, explored Slovenia and Croatia during summer and traveled around Norway all year round.

We discovered the joy of cross country skiing and ice skating, which made winter one of our favourite seasons.

With friends, we celebrated birthdays and holidays in hyttas, and now, we completely understand why it’s basically a must when living in Norway 🇳🇴

Basically, the longer we live here, the better we understand the true spirit of friluftsliv.

Here’s to another year full of camper trips and exploring new places ✨

Postcards from Norway 🇳🇴

Rørøs - a cute, small town not far from the boarder with Sweden.

Known for its copper mine and typical, Norwegian architecture. During Christmas it turnes into a true winter wonderland, with lights on every building and amazing little shops along the Main Street.

The town is so memorable for it’s atmosphere around winter that it was used as a set for one of the top, Norwegian Netflix hits - Hjem til Jul ✨

When looking for a „koselig” place to spend a weekend during Christmas time, we definitely recommend adding Rørøs to your list 📌
