January 20 — the echo of the solar storm still above us 🌍
Although the main impact of the geomagnetic storm had already passed, Earth remained in a state of heightened activity. The magnetosphere and ionosphere had not yet fully settled after yesterday’s Kp8 — and that was enough for the sky to ignite once again.
The remaining stream of charged solar particles continued to interact with Earth’s magnetic field, giving us another powerful auroral display.
This was no longer just a single spectacle — it was the continuation of a cosmic storm, stretching into another night.

Last night, Earth was struck by a severe geomagnetic storm as the Kp index climbed to 8, placing it in the G4 storm category. This level of solar activity allowed the aurora borealis to push far beyond its usual polar boundaries.
Charged particles from a powerful coronal mass ejection collided with Earth’s magnetosphere, igniting intense auroral displays — with deep reds appearing at higher altitudes and vivid greens dominating the lower layers of the atmosphere.
For many observers, this wasn’t just a light show — it was a direct reminder of how connected our planet is to the Sun.
A silent solar storm, painting the night sky in colors rarely seen at these latitudes.
Moments like this don’t happen often.
And when they do — you look up. 🔥

Ghosts of the Deep – Killer whale's near Stavanger

A rare and almost mystical sight… These powerful yet graceful beings move silently through the waters, reminding us of the wild beauty that still exists beyond our reach.

Seeing orcas in their natural habitat is a privilege, not a right. Let’s admire them with respect—no disturbances, no chasing, just quiet awe. Some wonders are meant to be observed, not controlled.

An unforgettable journey into the wild. ❄️🏔️✨

Standing beneath the swirling northern lights, surrounded by the silence of frozen wilderness, I felt the world pause. The icy winds cut through the darkness, the towering peaks loomed like ancient guardians, and every step across the frozen ground echoed with the weight of adventure.

This was more than just a trip—it was raw, untamed, and humbling. A reminder of how small we are against nature’s vast power, yet how alive we can feel in its presence.

Some places don’t just take your breath away—they leave a mark on your soul.

What was a night 🔥🔥🔥

On October 10, Europe witnessed an extraordinary natural spectacle as a powerful G4 geomagnetic storm brought the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) dancing across the night sky! 🌠

The intense solar storm, triggered by a massive Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), lit up the skies with stunning waves of green, purple, and pink. This rare event allowed the aurora to be seen much farther south than usual, with reports of sightings across much of Poland—an unforgettable experience for skywatchers! 🌍✨

The G4 storm was classified as severe, and Poland, along with many other parts of Europe, got a front-row seat to one of the most vivid auroras in recent memory. It’s rare to see the aurora this far south, making last night's display an event many will remember for years.

There’s no place like Trolltunga, perched high above the stunning Ringedalsvatnet, where nature feels as vast as your dreams. The journey to this iconic rock formation is no easy feat, but the reward? Absolutely surreal. Standing on the edge of Trolltunga, you get a front-row seat to the untamed beauty of the Hardanger region—where rugged cliffs, serene fjords, and snow-capped mountains stretch as far as the eye can see.

Hardanger, with its cascading waterfalls, apple orchards, and wild landscapes, feels like a fairytale come to life. Every step on this hike is a reminder of the raw beauty and power of Norway’s nature.

Conquering this trail, with Hardanger unfolding beneath, is more than just an adventure. It’s a memory that will last a lifetime.

In the ancient Viking sagas, the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, were woven into the fabric of the mystical and the divine. To the Norse, these shimmering lights were not just earthly wonders, but sacred flames from realms beyond.

The Vikings believed the Aurora was a bridge between worlds—a glowing arc lighting the path to Asgard, home of the gods. The lights were said to be the flickering armor of the Valkyries, Odin’s ethereal maidens, riding across the sky on their spectral horses. As they descended from the heavens, their armor sparkled, creating the ghostly hues of green, blue, and violet that painted the night.

Legend whispers that these lights are the spirits of fallen warriors, their souls soaring to Valhalla, where they will feast with the gods and prepare for the final battle of Ragnarok. Each flicker of the Northern Lights was seen as the breath of these heroic souls, their essence glowing in the sky as a promise of eternal glory.

The Vikings saw the Northern Lights as a celestial omen, a sign from the gods, calling the brave and the noble to their final fate.

Can you feel the ancient magic when the sky dances with light? 🌌✨
