HEAVEN WAS TOO FAR… SO HE WALKED TO THE HIMALAYAS.

Meet Ashok J Kshetri , who recently completed a 4-night, 5-day Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek and came back with something better than souvenirs — a camera gallery full of Himalayan memories. 📸

Starting from Birethanti, his journey combined a short jeep ride, steep mountain trails, peaceful villages, and some of the most spectacular landscapes in the Annapurna region.

🥾 HIS ABC JOURNEY

DAY 01 | BIRETHANTI → JHINU → UPPER SINUWA
From Birethanti, he took a jeep towards Jhinu, a drive of around 1–2 hours depending on road conditions. From Jhinu, the trek began. After hiking through the mountain trails, he reached Upper Sinuwa, where he spent the night.

DAY 02 | UPPER SINUWA → MBC
The trail continued deeper into the Annapurna Sanctuary, passing through beautiful Himalayan landscapes and mountain villages. By the end of the day, he reached Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) and stayed overnight beneath the towering peaks.

DAY 03 | MBC → ABC → HIMALAYA
The big day. 🌄
He started early from MBC and reached Annapurna Base Camp, where the mountains surrounded him from every direction. After enjoying the views and capturing the moment, he retraced the trail and descended to Himalaya for the night.

DAY 04 | HIMALAYA → JHINU
The descent continued through the lush Annapurna landscape, eventually reaching Jhinu, where he stayed overnight.

And somewhere along those trails, the journey became more than just a trek — it became a collection of photographs, stories and memories.

Meet Nirmal, a traveler from Kerala, India, whom we met at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).

He had already spent three days at ABC, patiently waiting for the clouds to clear and the weather to reveal the mountains standing so close.

While he waited for that magical Himalayan view, we had the opportunity to capture some beautiful photographs of him - memories he could carry home long after the trek.

And Nirmal wasn’t the only traveler from India we met.

Along the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, we met many travellers from different parts of India - walking the same trails, sharing stories, experiencing the Himalayan landscapes and creating memories in Nepal.

Meet Ghonghi — a traditional Tharu delicacy from Nepal’s Terai.

Found in ponds, waterways and paddy fields, these freshwater snails have been part of Tharu food culture for generations.

BUT HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART…

Ghonghi isn’t eaten like an ordinary curry.

The snails are carefully cleaned, boiled and cooked with local spices into a rich gravy — often served with rice.

And traditionally?
