When preparing for a move, it’s essential to understand which items cannot be transported.
Container Relocations is unable to carry goods classified as Dangerous Goods under the NZTA Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods 2005. This includes anything explosive, flammable, toxic, infectious, corrosive, or environmentally hazardous - often identified by a diamond-shaped hazard label.
Organic materials should also be excluded. Items like perishable food, compost, and animal products can spoil during transit, leading to odours or potential damage to your other belongings.
Before packing, it’s a good idea to check your belongings and set aside any restricted items. These will need to be safely disposed of or transported separately.
With a little preparation, you can help ensure your move is safe, compliant, and runs smoothly from start to finish.
