This is ideal work for experienced drivers who enjoy being part of the local community, supporting schools and families, and helping students travel safely each day.

What we’re looking for:

Friendly, professional drivers
A strong focus on safety and reliability
Good communication skills
Passenger transport experience preferred
P Endorsement + Class 2 (Prefered class 4).

School runs are a great fit for drivers looking for regular weekday work, with morning and afternoon shifts during the school term. Potential far day and evening charter work as well.

Born in Whangārei and raised on a farm well off the beaten track, Dayton’s love of vehicles started early, driving farm machinery from the age of ten before later gaining his Class 2 and 4 licences and building a career across some of New Zealand’s best-known transport and vehicle businesses.
From the Air Force and avionics, to vehicle rentals, nationwide operations, tours, charters and cruise work, Dayton has built a life around transport in all its forms. Along the way he helped host the first cruise ships to Whangārei, worked across major transport operations, and ultimately took the wheel at Kiwi Coaches with his wife Francesca, carrying forward the legacy built by Calvin & Katie West.
Today, Dayton leads Kiwi Coaches with a strong focus on schools, community, growth, and backing Kiwi-owned businesses, with a passion for tourism. He is passionate about the future of transport in New Zealand, from better infrastructure planning and smarter city design, to the balance between electric and diesel fleets, and the importance of keeping strong local operators in the industry.
He has a soft spot for Volvos, rates the road north of Dargaville as both one of the best and one of the worst in the country (Beautiful but rough), and remains deeply committed to working across the sector to get the best outcomes for communities, passengers, and the future of New Zealand transport.
