We were saddened with the news on the 31st October that Dean Ashton who owned Heavy Industrial Training suddenly passed away.
We have worked with Dean on a number of occasions over the years.
Dean was always up for a good old chat about life and work stories.
Dean will be sadly missed by all of us a true top guy.
Below are the details for Service of Remembrance for Dean:

As you may (or may not) know we are advertising for another staff member as a trainer/assessor.
Response to date has been good, probably better than expected tbh.
However, one thing that is becoming abundantly clear is people are using AI to write their CV's.
Guess I don't have an issue with this, it is 2024 after all.
BUT for God's sake, proof read what you have written.
Simply using AI and sending I'm is sloppy and lacks attention to detail.
Most of these have been binned.
Here's some examples,
One applicant mentioned twice that they keep daily records of times and kilometers.
I guess that means a logbook.
Another mentioned 3 times he does a daily maintenance inspection and the best by far was one who has a Class 4 licence but the CV said he is accurate and precise when using trucks and trailers.
Please read and adjust as necessary.
We also don't have a DOT in NZ.
