An absolute honey of a little boat. Franklin 9.2. Built by one of New Zealand's best known boat builders, this boat just ticked all of the boxes. Again, an incredibly fastidious owner. Beautifully maintained. The build quality and attention to detail is beyond reproach. I'm a yachtie, but if I ever crossed the fence, this is what I would personally get. The perfect New Zealand coastal cruiser. I'm pretty sure she and some other sister ships are still on the market. If I win Lotto this weekend........

What else this year? Had the pleasure of attending the bi-annual boat show in Auckland this year. So good. So many amazing builds and restorations. Well, well, worth visiting the region just for this show. Just hanging out for the next one now!!!!!!

Another NZ design and build, the Dickey 32. Aluminium and always well built. If you ever get the chance have a look over one. Always well built and the alloy structure is always over engineered which is awesome. Doesn't matter the weather, this boat will get through it. And the designer/builder, not a bad bloke either!

Salthouse 57. Again, another good New Zealand design and build. Although a 57, these measure up around the 22 metre mark, so are a big boat. 2nd one in the past 12 months I have surveyed, and like the last one, off to Australia. 15% of my surveys recently have gone to Aussie. They're obviously loving the NZ dollar!

Azimut 68S. About 23.6 metres overall length from memory. Originally surveyed her about 6 years ago. The owner really went to town and has maintained her well. A big survey day. Big surface area to inspect, and alot of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Now based out at Waiheke Island.

Hard to go past an Upfold Elite. Good designs and the designer picks and chooses the best boat builders he can to undertake the builds. They just look right, perform well, well built, and always well maintained. They never age in my opinion, and as they get older, will slot into the New Zealand classic category.

What can I say? CNB 66 yacht. Owned by a Auckland business family, with professional crew onboard. Continuously upgraded, highly used. After 2500 odd surveys, probably in the top ten. Immaculate and better than when first launched. I have surveyed several boats for these clients, and am always in awe and the condition of their vessels.
