Destination Johannesburg for NZB Airfreight ✈️

For the first time since 2014, NZB Airfreight successfully managed a flight of 15 thoroughbreds to South Africa with the horses arriving safe and sound in Johannesburg last week.

NZB Airfreight consultant Greg Northcott has been at the forefront of delivering the shipment to South Africa, what was once a regular destination.

“There has been a lot of work, time and communication between both countries over the last 18 months to get this flight off the ground,” he commented.

“We were delighted to get this route back up and running, with thanks to Craig Ramsay who we have been working alongside to ensure the safe delivery of these horses.

For those that are looking to purchase at the upcoming Karaka 2026 Sale, we are delighted to announce NZB Airfreight will again be offering the best rates from the fall of hammer to arrival at your stable door for any of the purchases you make. 🚛

It is as simple as selecting yes to NZB Airfreight on the iPad following the purchase of a Lot in the ring, or online to you or your agent. ✅

If you know where you would like your purchase to go upon arrival at your selected destination country, you can either provide the auction ring team with the details or one of the NZB Airfreight team will be in touch with you.

The horse(s) you purchase will be carefully transported from the Sale to agistment properties close to the Karaka Sales Centre to await the first available flight. Our team will keep you updated about your precious cargo along the way. 🙌

Overseas buyers can also leave their New Zealand purchases in NZ for up to 24 months and defer the NZ GST. NZB can assist with this simple process for purchases destined for export and we have several upcoming flight options within this timeframe.
