Daffodil Day 28th of August 2026 💛 1 in 3 Kiwis will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetimes.

Each day 81 Kiwis hear the words, “You have cancer.” Daffodil Day is a chance to show your friends and family affected by cancer they’re not alone. Daffodil Day is about donating in order to protect future generations of New Zealanders by helping to fund world-leading cancer research and vital prevention programmes.

Today is World Senior Citizens Day, a day that recognises and appreciates senior citizens for all their accomplishments and contributions to the community we live in today. Senior citizens are valued members of society, who have plenty of kind wisdom and experience to share with the younger generation.

They are often overlooked and undermined because of their fragile state, but they have played a huge role in history, either in our communities, the workforce, or in our daily households. World Senior Citizens Day is a great opportunity to show them love and plenty of kindness in celebrating their golden age and their presence in our lives.

🐱 Happy International Cat Day! 💛 Today we're celebrating our feline friends

Last year, at the age of 99, Mr. Whittmore, affectionately known as “Whitty” made the significant and admirable decision to hang up his car keys and retire from driving.

Since then, it has been an absolute privilege and honour for the team at Driving Miss Daisy Tauranga South to support Whitty with his transport needs, ensuring he arrives safely and comfortably to all of his appointments.

In December, Whitty celebrated an extraordinary milestone 100 years of life! Here he is proudly holding his RSA plaque to mark the occasion. What an incredible achievement and an inspiration to us all.

Thank you, Whitty, for placing your trust in us. We are truly honoured to be part of your journey and look forward to many more trips together.
