i'd say we hit the jackpot 🎲🪩🚲☀️

Wowzer what a day!! Bus Guys LLC helped with shuttles all day and so many Ragbrai goers and support vehicle drivers gave us many thanks for this. Everyone was incredibly kind and grateful for our driver, Sheila, and for the bus.

Dahlia - the bus - made her deput at her first ever Ragbrai and sooo many people stopped to talk to us about the renovation process and compliment us on our hard work. Lots of photos were taken, and attempts at hiring anyone with a CDL who could drive the manual transmission 😂😂 Of course her signature merch and bus logo were a hit too and we had several ask if they could buy something (fail on my end because I've only done limited time merch drops and today there was definitely an interest)

The kids sold a few waters, but most importantly Z and I told them it was a good life skill for them to experience today. Chatting with folks, giving back change, and serving others - even if it is in a small way. Although they took many breaks inside of the bus 😆

I catch myself sometimes looking around at what everyone else is doing. Wondering if I need to change my ways to be the newest, flashiest, or the biggest.

We were incredibly busy during the month of June, and last week my family and I were able to sneak away for a bit. It's funny how when our mind and bodies are still, the noise becomes quiet and we're able to hear ourselves again.

Honestly I think every business owner falls into that trap once in a while. In an industry where people compare photos in seconds, it's easy to think to myself, "what if I had newer buses, built it better, more of this or more of that...." There's a fine line between bettering your business and trying to keep up with the Joneses.

But newer and better doesn't always mean that the people are well taken care of...
Every time we get a referral from a past client, I'm reminded that we're building trust, not just a fleet.
Then I look back at photos like this. Not because of the bus in the background but because of the people in front of it.

The memories and feelings that come with it.

That's the part that matters.

Dahlia isn't just a vintage bus or just something to ride in. It's the memories that people will still be talking about years from now. Long after the decorations are gone and things tucked away, people will remember who they were with and how they felt.

That was the building blocks for Dahlia Darling & Co. and what I want to be known for. Not just for giving rides, but helping create moments that are worth remembering.

If we get to play a small part in these memories, then I'd say we're doing something right. and If you've trusted us with your celebrations, thank you.
