May 28, 2023 Environmental Activity
The Caraga Transport Services Cooperative (CARTRANSCO) in coordination with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office of Carmen united in a Mangrove Tree Planting Activity held at Sitio Lagaylay, Brgy. Cahayagan, Carmen, Agusan del Norte.
The activity was participated by CARTRANSCO operators and members led by Mr Fernando Curato II, Chairman, together with
Mr Ian Al Jayson R Alberta, Tm Forester and Ms Irish Ruby M Tolentino, Assistant Team Leader CAMAGONG Anti-Environmental Crime Task Force; Mr Vicente Dela Torre, Caretaker, CARMEN SANTUARY.
At the venue, an orientation was conducted by selected personnel from DENR to all participants about the proper planting procedures. Mangrove tree planting activity started around 7:30am and ended at about 9:00am of the same date. A total of one hundred (100) mangrove tree samplings were planted.
The Cartransco Butuan are encouraged to take part in environmental activities as we provide support in planting mangrove trees which can help to mitigate the effects of climate change.
