The Department of Tourism’s (DOT) Region 2 Office has reported a decline in the number of stranded tourists in Batanes from 140 to 103. A total of 37 passengers were accommodated in two flights yesterday (October 27). The stranded individuals are all in Basco and are eventually expected to fly out of the island as soon as airline seats are able to accommodate all of them. All other stranded tourists from previously reported areas all over the country were able to travel onwards to their respective destinations.

With Tropical Storm Kristine leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), resumption of all regular transportation and travel schedules are already expected in the entire country.

Tourists are urged to continually stay regularly informed through official weather updates from PAGASA and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) as part of their travel itineraries.

The 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝘽𝙤𝙎𝙖, officially designated as the 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝘽𝙤𝙎𝙖 𝙃𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠, is a community artwork designed by the Tam-awan Village group, and is a locally recognized tourist attraction in the town of 𝙇𝙖 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙙, 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙩. The paintwork of multiple houses composes the single artwork.
