One thing I’ve realized after years of spearfishing: you don’t really have to be a great diver or hunter. Sometimes, being average but knowing a really good fishing spot is enough.

But when you get really good at it, that’s when things get interesting. You can catch quality fish in a very short amount of time.

This one is my personal best Maori. Caught it in shallow water with very little effort.

Drop shot lang. 😂

Good spot + good technique + experience = game over.

One of the best things about finding a good fishing spot is getting to observe fish and learn their behavior.

Take this parrotfish, for example. On this spot, “dusting” proves to be an effective technique. There are literally hundreds of them, and I’m confident I could catch as many as I want.

But I only took one. Just enough for dinner.

And I always cook them fresh.
