A 200-hectare aviation facility - ready for commercial or chartered aircraft operations, air cargo handling and warehousing, aircraft repair and maintenance, and other general aviation businesses

he Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) strategically lies at the center of Asia-Pacific. The facility stands on a sprawling 200-hectare area and is supported by modern amenities and a systems framewor

k at par with the best airports in the world. The SBIA is certified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) with ratings of a category 1 for precision approach runway and aerodrome reference code 4-E. Its runway spans 2,744 meters by 45 meters, which means the runway can easily accommodate various types of aircraft. It has a complete lighting system with aerodrome beacon light, runway edge lights, runway centerline lights, runway end lights, approach lights, threshold lights, touchdown zone lights, taxiway centerline lights and taxiway edge lights. Formerly the US Naval Air Station, the SBIA was transformed into a modern international airport with a 10,000- sq. passenger terminal in 1996, and housed FedEx 1, the Asian distribution hub of Federal Express, until 2009. The Philippines liberal aviation policy, the Subic Bay International Airport's strategic location, the local workforce's mastery, especially of the English language, and the attractive incentives and privileges under the country's Freeport regime make this free port facility a perfect site for general aviation businesses and activities.
