Port Qasim Authority (PQA) is pleased to mark another significant milestone in the development of port infrastructure with the inauguration of the “Berth Back Up Area” at Port Qasim, operated by Qasim International Container Terminal (DP World).
The newly developed facility is designed to enhance terminal handling capacity, ease congestion, streamline cargo movement, and improve overall operational efficiency, further strengthening Port Qasim's role as a key gateway for Pakistan's international trade.
The development represents an important step towards modernizing port infrastructure, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and supporting Pakistan’s expanding trade requirements.

𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀, 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁. (𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗱.) 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗞𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗴𝗵𝗮, visited Port Qasim Authority (PQA), where he was warmly received by 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗮𝗺 𝗜𝗹𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗛𝗜(𝗠) (𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗱.), 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗤𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗺 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗶𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗶 also accompanied the Federal Secretary during the visit.

The Federal Secretary was briefed on PQA’s port operations, ongoing development projects, and future development plans.

Subsequently, he, along with the Chairman PQA and Board Member Mr. Liaquat Ali, visited EVTL Terminal and various operational areas of the Port, and inspected port vessels to review ongoing maritime operations and activities.

Amid the ongoing disruptions affecting maritime trade in the Gulf region, Port Qasim Authority (PQA) continues to play a vital role in facilitating Pakistan's international trade and maintaining connectivity with key regional markets.
