Today, 15 August, Poland celebrates Polish Armed Forces Day 🇵🇱

It is a national holiday dedicated to the Polish Armed Forces and an important day of remembrance, history and military tradition.

In Warsaw, the day will be marked with official ceremonies, a military parade, historical events and activities for visitors.

📍Warsaw Citadel | 10:00–18:00
Head to the Polish Army Museum, where military educational and cultural zones will be open to visitors. You’ll be able to see military vehicles, equipment, weapons and other gear used by Polish soldiers.

📍Plac marsz. Józefa Piłsudskiego (Piłsudski Square) | 10:00
A ceremonial changing of the Guard of Honour will take place in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

📍Military Parade | 12:00
The main event takes place along Wisłostrada, where Polish soldiers and military equipment will pass in a large military parade.

🇵🇱 Sierpień 1944. W pierwszym okresie Powstania Warszawskiego Śródmieście należało do dzielnic stosunkowo spokojnych i bezpiecznych. Oto oddział bojowy Armii Krajowej maszeruje z „piosenką na ustach” ulicą Chmielną u wylotu ulicy Szpitalnej.

🇬🇧 August 1944. During the early days of the Warsaw Uprising, Śródmieście was one of the city's relatively calm and secure districts. Here, a Home Army combat unit marches along Chmielna Street near its junction with Szpitalna Street, with "a song on their lips."

🇷🇴 August 1944. În primele zile ale Insurecției din Varșovia, Śródmieście era unul dintre cartierele relativ liniștite și sigure ale orașului. Aici, o unitate de luptă a Armatei Interne Poloneze mărșăluiește pe strada Chmielna, la intersecția cu strada Szpitalna, „cu un cântec pe buze”.

🇬🇷 Αύγουστος 1944. Κατά τις πρώτες ημέρες της Εξέγερσης της Βαρσοβίας, το Śródmieście ήταν μία από τις σχετικά ήρεμες και ασφαλείς συνοικίες της πόλης. Εδώ, μια μονάδα μάχης της Armia Krajowa παρελαύνει κατά μήκος της οδού Chmielna, κοντά στη συμβολή της με την οδό Szpitalna, «με ένα τραγούδι στα χείλη».

🇫🇷 Août 1944. Au début de l'Insurrection de Varsovie, Śródmieście était l'un des quartiers relativement calmes et sûrs de la ville. On y voit une unité de combat de l'Armia Krajowa marcher dans la rue Chmielna, à l'angle de la rue Szpitalna, «la chanson aux lèvres».

🇩🇪 August 1944. In den ersten Tagen des Warschauer Aufstands gehörte Śródmieście zu den vergleichsweise ruhigen und sicheren Stadtteilen. Hier marschiert eine Kampfeinheit der Armia Krajowa mit „einem Lied auf den Lippen“ die Chmielna-Straße entlang, nahe der Einmündung der Szpitalna-Straße.

🇪🇸 Agosto de 1944. Durante los primeros días del Levantamiento de Varsovia, Śródmieście era uno de los barrios relativamente tranquilos y seguros de la ciudad. Aquí, una unidad de combate del Armia Krajowa marcha por la calle Chmielna, cerca de su cruce con la calle Szpitalna, «con una canción en los labios».

🇮🇱 אוגוסט 1944. בימיה הראשונים של מרד ורשה היה רובע Śródmieście אחד האזורים השקטים והבטוחים יחסית בעיר. כאן נראית יחידת קרב של Armia Krajowa צועדת ברחוב Chmielna סמוך למפגשו עם רחוב Szpitalna, "עם שיר על השפתיים".
