🌙 Ashura in Uganda | Feeding Hearts, Spreading Mercy 🤲🍛

On the blessed day of Ashura, the QurbanNow SG team was on the ground in Uganda, providing hot meals to children and families in need.

While many of us marked this special day through fasting and worship, we were also honoured to share the blessings by ensuring that those less fortunate had a warm, nutritious meal to enjoy.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like theirs, without that diminishing the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.”
(Reported by Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, 807)

Although this hadith is general regarding feeding those who fast, its spirit is especially meaningful on blessed days like Ashura, when acts of worship and charity are greatly encouraged.

This initiative also reflects something we have always believed in at QurbanNow SG. Our work in Africa is not limited to Qurban season. Throughout the year, we remain committed to supporting vulnerable communities through food distributions, clean water projects, orphan care, humanitarian aid and community development.

From the blessed land of Tarim in Yemen 🇾🇪, our Qurban operations are continuing strong despite the intense summer heat.

Temperatures are soaring as the summer season approaches, yet our Qurban team on the ground remains committed to delivering your amanah with urgency and care.

This is not an operation where meat can be left sitting under the scorching desert sun. The moment the Qurban is completed, our teams immediately begin the distribution process. Every minute matters. The meat has to be packed and delivered swiftly to families and homes across the communities, ensuring that it reaches those in need fresh and in good condition.

Under the blazing heat, our brothers on the ground continue moving from house to house and village to village, carrying out this responsibility with dedication and sincerity. Their mission is simple, to ensure that every single portion reaches the rightful recipients as quickly as possible.

Alhamdulillah, it is a beautiful sight to witness families in the historic land of Tarim receiving their Qurban meats with joy and gratitude. This is the very essence of Qurban, sacrifice, compassion and reaching those who need it most.

Some of the most meaningful moments of Qurban happen far away from the towns and main roads.

In Kenya, our team continues to travel deep into remote villages, going from home to home to personally deliver Qurban meat to families who may otherwise be left out. Through rough roads, long journeys, and challenging terrain, they remain committed to ensuring that your amanah reaches those who need it most.

For many of these families, this may be the only time in the year they are able to enjoy fresh meat with their loved ones. The smiles, gratitude, and heartfelt duas from the villagers remind us why this effort is so important.

This is more than just meat distribution. It is about bringing dignity, joy, and hope to communities living in some of the most remote parts of Kenya.

There are moments that remind us why Qurban is so meaningful.

Across small villages in the city of Mbale,Uganda 🇺🇬 and the western regions of Uganda, we have several Qurban centres serving communities this year. What you see here is just one of those centres, but the impact reaches far beyond these photos.

For many of these families, this may be the only time in the year they are able to bring fresh meat home and prepare a special meal for their loved ones. Children wait eagerly for this moment, and the smiles on their faces tell a story that words can hardly describe.

To witness parents carrying home portions of meat, knowing they can provide something special for their families, is truly heartwarming. These are not just food distributions. These are moments of dignity, happiness, gratitude and togetherness.

Every Qurban entrusted to us is an amanah that reaches real people, real families and real communities. Alhamdulillah, through your generosity, lives are being touched and hearts are being uplifted across Uganda.
