A store stocked with non-perishable food items such as canned food and rice donated by different faith organisations was launched in Henderson Road by Ms Indranee Rajah, MP for the constituency, on 16 August 2015. The Inter-faith Goodwill Store was converted from a 40-foot cargo container, and will be manned and managed by Tanglin-Cairnhill grassroots leaders and NBS student volunteers. Together w
ith the Undergraduate Programme Office and NBS Alumni Affairs Office, it became a spin-off with NBS student volunteers undertaking the project with 3 main teams in Collection, Distribution and Corporate Relations. The aim of the store is to consolidate and centralise the distribution at one location, for greater convenience to residents on the Tanglin-Cairnhill Citizens Consultative Committee food ration distribution programme. The food ration distributions to the low-income families residing in the rental flats in the Henderson area are currently scheduled for every first Thursday night and first Sunday morning of the month.
