1️⃣ Many asked 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀? It's 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 & 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴? You think so?
First of all, we don't put together a new itinerary based on Google & AI. We believe in using a local guide's expertise. Especially when there are incidents/accidents/emergency etc.- more so, as the nature of any outdoor adventure trips are prone to all these 3 situations. 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂? When it does happen?
Secondly, with local guide knowledge, the plan can be even more flexible - eg: when a trail is blocked, what other trails can your trip leader take on?
Asian local guides are relatively lower cost than European guides. It's tempting for us to save on costs by not using European guides - 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘃𝘀. 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, which is more important?
FYI - for countries like Korea, 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲!!
2️⃣ Some asked: 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀? Reason? Save cost? Flexible? can cover more famous Instagram spots. Yes; eg: in Dolomites - so many want to take those famous photos of selected peaks and lakes, etc. Yes, demand is there, yet we don't do. 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 & 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁. Secondly is the car insurance issue that covers only the driver vs. everyone in the car. If it needs to cover all passengers, insurance costs go up tremendously, like in Europe. Is this really cost-saving for you?
We hope the above sharing helps to clear the air about why we don't do certain trip formats since the demand is there + the need to lower land cost [to compete].
