RIS Project:Greenify by 3R Committee Our mission is to promote sustainability and reusing, second hand items, whilst also making sure that all children, have an equal opportunity in life.

Our mission is to reuse everyday items such as bags, clothes, and toys in order to decrease the amount of production to lessen pollution. During the process, we will also help raise money for the Redemptorist (Father Ray) Foundation. How: We will collect reusable item at the high-school breezeway. When we have a certain amount of item, we will transport the item to a shop in Pattaya called Ray Pan

Kan. Ray Pan Kan is a second-hand store and will take anything that is re-sellable, even broken items that are fixable. This shop will reuse the donated items by fixing them and selling them to raise money for Redemptorist (Father Ray) Foundation for people with disabilities while also reducing the amount of waste products. E-waste has been lingering in our piles of trash for centuries. But what is it? E-Waste, also known as electronic waste, are electronics that are trashed for no longer working or , like batteries, have reached the end of their life span. Factors that cause E-waste also include the improvement in technology, causing outdated devices to be thrown away. But the main problem is the fact that it harms the environment and human health. The problem is caused by the toxic chemicals embedded in the E-wastes leaking out into the soils in the landfills. The chemicals also get released into the air and water. If the water is consumed or the air is being breathed, then the chemicals can potentially cause inflammation, stress, and heart disease. At even higher concentrations, the chemicals could also damage to the DNA which causes mutation or , more commonly known, cancer. However there are solutions that gradually help minimize this problem. The small scale solution would be for every individual to consume less electronic products. Instead of using batteries that are being thrown away every few months, we can use Energizer's rechargeable batteries. The communities can also contribute by sorting trash properly so the electronics can be recycled properly. If everyone is able to contribute a bit then on average, it will impact the larger scale by a lot. Therefore we hope you consider this problem and recycle E-wastes properly in order to help our ecosystems and humans have a better environment.

Over 40 million metric tons of electronic waste are produced globally each year, and but only 13 percent of that weight is recycled mostly in developing countries. The remaining waste are shredded, burned and dismantled in the backyards of informal recycling plants. These practices create emission of toxic substance that are damaging to both human and the environment.
In this semester, our committee will be finding ways to tackle this problem!

The environment in these recent months have been really bad. Because of this, the Antarctic has reported to be melting at a faster rate than usual, and would pretty soon “predicted” to flood America. February 2016 has smashed the global highest temperature average. What is worst is the Arctic has been recorded of having a 5.36°C increase in temperature compared to previous years. According to scientists, the temperature right now they recorded, were probably all surface temperatures whereas the rest of the heat probably was all absorbed by the water. If there is no water to cool the temperature down imagine how much higher the temperature would have gotten. If we turn a blind eye to all that is pollutions that are happening around us, the temperature would gradually increase by year, we would surely encounter a large crisis. Think for yourselves and your future, spend some time, think of something creative, then let's dedicate a little of your life to save mother Earth!

HI AGAIN! During the previous several months, we had been kindly asking for different kinds of donations and reusable items from the teachers and students at our school; and once we found that there is a sufficient amount of items (including 700 pieces of clothing and accessories, 52 pairs of shoes, 280 books, 12 sets of computers, 3 laptops, a television, and a gas oven), we began transporting items to a shop in Pattaya called Ray Pan Kan, which is a second-hand store which takes anything that can be sold. Many kinds of broken or damaged materials are also welcomed to the shop as they are able to repair it. The Ray Pan Kan shop will sell the donated items in order to raise money for Redemptorist (Father Ray) Foundation for people with disabilities.
Because this project has come to an end, we genuinely would like to thank all of you who contributed to the donations because none of this success would've happened if it were not for your generousness and wish to share. Not only will handicapped people be significantly assisted, the amount of waste products will also be reduced substantially!

Good weekend, the breeze is back again just like our update on the bins. In these past weekends you might have seen a lot of these trash cans around. Help yourself if you have any trash, and throw it in the correct section. Be sure to throw the plastic in the plastic section, and paper in the paper section. Lastly, others may be anything unrelated to plastic and paper, maybe also unfinished drinks or food. For more information look direction on the trashcan to see what can be specifically thrown. Lastly, the locations of the bin are, the road to RIST, in front of griffith library, beside alpha shop, two in canteen, new elementary canteen, breeze way, and the beside the benches in gate 5. This is the update on the trashcans, be sure to use it correctly and make our school more eco friendly. Thank you for your cooperation!

HEY THERE! The cold and chilly breeze isn't the only thing approaching this week, because believe it or not, OUR BINS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY MANUFACTURED AND PLACED ON CAMPUS! After months and months of planning and finalizing, our anticipated bins will finally be positioned at different spots on the spacious RIS campus very soon. As stated before, the bins are separated into three categories: plastic, paper, and others, so please don't mix things up and throw different items in the wrong place!
We will keep you posted on updates as to where the bins will be specifically placed shortly! Do the right thing for you and for the earth, because saving the earth ultimately means saving yourself!
