Formal sustainability certification is still uncommon among lodges and camps in Tanzania — certification schemes like Travelife simply haven't reached this market the way they have in Europe yet. That's slowly changing, and we want to be part of that shift.
We're currently working on our own sustainability, and it's a long journey — not something we finish overnight. Part of that journey is encouraging every supplier we work with to move in the same direction, whether or not formal certification is available to them right now.
The reasoning is simple: this only works if we're all in it together. The water, the wildlife, the landscapes that make a safari what it is — none of that holds up if only one company in the chain is paying attention. If we look after it collectively, we protect the experience itself, for the people living here and the travelers who come after us.
