Happy World Elephant Day! 🐘🌍

Today we celebrate the gentle giants that roam our wild spaces and remind us of the beauty, wisdom, and balance of nature. Elephants are not only incredible creatures—they are guardians of Africa’s ecosystems and symbols of strength, family, and resilience.

Let’s protect their habitats, support conservation efforts, and ensure future generations can continue to witness these magnificent animals in the wild. 🐘💚

By now most of the herds have made their way across the Mara River. What is left are smaller groups, still moving through the northern plains, still working their way to the water’s edge.

The weeks ahead may be the more interesting ones. Through late August and into September the reverse crossings begin, herds turning back over the same river they came through, following the grazing and the shift of the rains.

There is still time to plan this journey with us.

DM to discover more.

In the heart of Tanzania’s wilderness, every encounter tells a story of survival.

A lioness challenged a fiercely defensive giraffe—and what followed was nothing short of extraordinary.

Standing tall and refusing to retreat, the giraffe unleashed a series of powerful, relentless kicks, proving that in the wild, courage and determination can rival even the most skilled predator. It was a powerful reminder that every animal has its own way of fighting for survival.

These are the moments that define Africa’s untamed landscapes—raw, unpredictable, breathtaking, and unforgettable.

Witnessing nature unfold in real time is a privilege, where instinct, resilience, and the relentless will to survive take center stage beneath Tanzania’s endless skies.

Stay curious. Stay wild.

The Kogatende region in northern Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous locations to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. Here, hundreds of thousands of wildebeests, accompanied by zebras and gazelles, make dramatic crossings of the Mara River as they move between Tanzania and Kenya’s Maasai Mara.

What makes Kogatende special?

👉 River crossings: Massive herds gather along the riverbanks before suddenly plunging into the water.

👉Predator action: Nile crocodiles often lie in wait, while lions, leopards, and hyenas patrol nearby.

👉 Spectacular photography: Dust clouds, splashing water, and tightly packed herds create unforgettable images.

👉Unpredictable timing: Crossings can happen at any time of day—or not at all—making every safari unique.
