Ecotectonics Sustainable Design/Build

Ecotectonics Sustainable Design/Build We Offer Architectural Design, Sustainable Construction, Green Design Solutions, FSC Certified Material, Local Material Sourcing, and Clean Energy Installation

Ecotectonics is a Sustainable Design/Build, and Consultation Company that achieves substantial carbon footprint reduction by merging unique past, present, and progressive environmental design solutions. Started by an award-winning, University of Michigan, Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, graduate, we are pursuing our own research on environmental strategies and implement them in

a local context. As a company, we have made a goal to save the production and use of 10,000 barrels of oil this year. This kind of initiative will propel ecological progression through the reduction of our client’s energy consumption. We hope to meet our goal by building with sustainable materials that are locally derived from renewable resources, by implementing locally reclaimed products, and designing with both pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled materials. We will utilize clean energy for production, transportation, fabrication and construction, and substantially reduce waste from construction and demolition. Ecotectonics creates healthy spaces by using non-toxic materials, increasing day lighting, and improving air quality. Join in and help us preserve our environment for future generations.

Energy Saving Tip:
Most infiltration takes place as warm air rises and flows out openings high in the house, pulling cold air in through leaks low in the house. These leaks are easiest to find on cold days and are usually very cost effective to repair. Feel for cool drafts coming in low areas - where the sill meets the foundation, around low doors, windows and protrusions for pipes and wires. Hold something that smokes, like incense, and look for smoke being sucked out along potential openings - attic hatches, upper floor windows and electric outlets, etc. Seal all high and low openings with weather stripping, spray foam or caulk.
