Today we celebrate the people, passion, and freedom that make aviation so special.

Here at Arlington Municipal Airport, we’re especially excited to celebrate this year with the Hometown Fly-In this weekend! 🛩️🎉

It’s a weekend to bring our aviation community together, welcome friends and neighbors to the airport, and celebrate everything we love about flight.

From the pilots and mechanics to airport staff, aviation businesses, volunteers, families, and everyone who simply loves watching an airplane take off, aviation is better when we share it.

Come out this weekend, look up, meet some pilots, see some airplanes, and enjoy a little hometown aviation magic right here at KAWO.

Community Notification: Arlington Municipal Airport Supporting Wildfire Response Airlift Operations

The Arlington Municipal Airport is coordinating with DART, a disaster airlift response partner, to support supply flights for wildfire response efforts in Eastern Washington, including areas serving the Colville Tribe.

Beginning as early as tomorrow morning, the airport may be used as a staging location for incoming supplies. Supplies will be organized and loaded onto aircraft for transport to communities impacted by wildfire conditions.

Community members may notice increased activity at or near the airport during this time. These operations are part of a coordinated emergency response and are not expected to impact normal community services.

The Brass Roots Band live at the Arlington Airport (KAWO) August 22nd at 4:00 pm.
Join us for a beer garden with Whitewall Brewery sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force Rainier Squadron.
There will be a bouncy house for the kiddos!

We’ve heard there’s been some confusion about this summer’s airport events, so we’d like to help clarify.

Arlington SkyFest, also known as the Arlington Fly-In, was a wonderful event organized by a dedicated group of volunteers and was not a City of Arlington event. With many senior volunteers now retiring, SkyFest will unfortunately not take place this year.

This summer, Arlington Airport is combining two events into one exciting weekend:

Hometown Fly-In, August 21 - 22
Friday night and Saturday, pilots are invited to camp under the wings of their airplanes.
Saturday’s activities include:
• Live music
• Food trucks
• Beer garden with Whitewall Brewery
• Vendor booths
• Flour Drop Competition
The community is invited to attend Saturday’s events.

Community Airport Day, August 23
Sunday is a day for kids of all ages.
Sunday’s activities include:
• Food trucks
• Fire and Police
• SARS Helicopter
• Bouncy House
• Vendor booths
• Young Eagle Flights
