Honest opinion? Crete doesn't get nearly enough credit.
Everyone goes straight to Santorini, and I get that. But if you're sleeping on Crete, you're missing the best part of Greece.
Here's what actually surprised me when I visited:
🏛️ The history runs deep. Crete is home to one of Europe's oldest civilizations with ruins that predate ancient Rome.
🍝 The cuisine is some of the healthiest in the world, and you'll TASTE why. Fresh olive oil, slow-cooked lamb, local cheese, wine that keeps showing up.
🤩 The coastline is genuinely hard to describe. It's big enough that you could spend two weeks and still feel like you've only scratched the surface.
I've been, and I'm already thinking about going back.
Is Greece on your radar? Have you been to Crete?
