I don't plan anything big for the first 24 hours, on purpose.

In a perfect world, here's how I'd spend mine:

☀️ Get outside in daylight
🚶🏽‍♀️ Walk the neighborhood around my hotel
☕ Find a café, sit, and people-watch
🍽️ Eat where the locals are eating
💧 Hydrate like it's my job
🛏️ No big plans. Day one is for landing, not hustling.

Call me crazy but I do these same 5 things before I land in a new country

1️⃣ Screenshot my hotel address and the front desk number before I lose signal, I'm not counting on roaming to kick in the second I land.

2️⃣ Have local currency ready before I touch down, no fumbling at arrivals.

3️⃣ Know the "don't do this" list for that specific country ahead of time. What's normal in one place isn't in another, and I'd rather learn that from research than a stranger's reaction.

4️⃣ Save my hotel address in the local language, not just English. Game changer the second you're in a cab.

5️⃣ Text someone my flight number and hotel before wheels down. Not a post, an actual person who'd notice if they didn't hear from me.

None of this is about being scared to travel. It's about landing somewhere new and actually being able to relax.

Honestly? I wasn't sure how much of Oslo you could really see in one port day.

We docked at noon and the ship didn't leave until 9pm. Not a ton of time, but enough if you know how to split it.

Turns out Oslo is incredibly walkable, easy to bike, and completely doable on your own schedule without rushing.

Honestly? These are my favorite kinds of photos to get in my inbox.

I didn't take these. My clients did, on a trip to Greece I planned for them. I handled the cruise logistics, the transfers, and the timing, so they could focus on moments like this one.

I love watching my clients live out the trip of their dreams, while I handle everything happening off-camera. It's my favorite part of what I do!

Football season is officially here, and yes, I'm that big of a GA Tech fan. 🏈

A few years back I actually flew to Dublin to watch the Yellow Jackets play overseas, because apparently a regular Saturday tailgate wasn't enough for me. Turned a football game into a full passport stamp, and honestly, best decision ever.

Moral of the story: when you love something enough, you find a way to make the trip happen 😉

But this was my first time visiting Norway.

And honestly? I love that for you 😏

It means I got to experience it with completely fresh eyes. I biked it, ate my way through it, and figured out what's actually worth your few hours in port versus what's just postcard material.

Call me crazy, but the best part of a bucket-list trip might be the day you do absolutely nothing on it.

This is the built-in rest day I put into every trip. No excursions, no itinerary, just a rooftop, good coffee, and permission to actually be on vacation instead of running a scavenger hunt through a country.

We've all been trained to feel guilty about rest, like it doesn't count unless you're checking off landmarks. I disagree. A trip that leaves you more exhausted than when you left isn't a vacation, it's a second job.

3 ways to blend in when you're somewhere new

1️⃣ Check your map off to the side, not in the middle of the walkway. Locals clock the mid-sidewalk stop instantly.

2️⃣ Move with intention. Hesitation is the biggest tourist tell there is, more than any outfit or accent.

3️⃣ Ask for directions like you're mildly inconveniencing someone, not like you're lost. Confidence reads louder than the question itself.

None of this is about disappearing into a crowd. It's about moving through a place like you belong there, even the first time you land.
