Concrete Edge Restraint vs. Plastic Edge

One detail that makes a big difference in a paver patio is the edge restraint.

For this project, we used a concrete edge restraint instead of plastic edging.

✅ Stronger long-term support
✅ Helps prevent paver movement and spreading
✅ Better performance through Wisconsin freeze/thaw cycles
✅ Built to last

Plastic edging has its place, but for premium installations, we prefer concrete because it’s a more permanent solution.

A year ago I was working a full-time job and building Snappy Skid Worx nights and weekends. There were plenty of days I questioned whether it would work. Today we’re building projects I once only hoped we’d have the opportunity to do.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency beats motivation. You won’t always feel motivated, but showing up every day adds up.

Before & After: Apple Valley Retaining Wall Project

The old timber retaining walls and steps were failing, so we removed them and replaced them with durable County Materials retaining wall block and new steps.
