Southwest and I have a love hate relationship 🤣

Chase and Southwest are building a first-ever lounge network in four cities and BWI is one of them! In 2027, they will add lounges to BWI, Austin, Honolulu, and Nashville.

We know Southwest has been making a lot of changes lately, and I still have my feelings about the seat assignments, but I'm glad they're adding other perks for card members. Ultimately, BWI is a SW hub, so I will continue to fly them, and I've had their credit card for a long time.

If you fly them, I do think their credit card is worth it. You get free preferred seat selection and a free checked bag. I'll drop my referral link in the comments if you're interested in signing up! 🙂

January 2027 might feel impossibly far away right now, but in travel time? That's basically next week.

This summer has been alll about last-minute bookings, and in the interest of avoiding that particular brand of chaos 🤪 let's talk about why you should already have your sights on 2027.

Here is why you need to book ahead:

-The best rooms go first. The good stuff won't wait while you and your partner ask each other, "Should we go somewhere in January?" for the ninth time.
-Winter favorites are in higher demand than you'd expect. January may feel far away, but peak ski weeks, sunny winter escapes, and bucket-list experiences can fill surprisingly quickly.
-You have more options when you're flexible. More flight choices, more room categories, more itineraries, and more opportunities to build the trip you actually want instead of settling for what's left.
-Having a trip on the calendar makes surviving January significantly easier. This is less of a travel fact and more of a public service announcement!
