6/19/26 -- Today was one for the books.

I had a move starting at Timber Top Apartments down in Merriman Valley. When I arrived, it was quite a situation. The night before, there had been a landslide that turned to mud. The entire road leading up to the apartments and the parking lot were covered in mud to the point that some of the tenants' cars had been surrounded by it and had to be towed out.

Management had called in a Bobcat excavator to clean out the road and the parking lot but when I arrived, there was still a lot of mud covering the area. Needless to say, my customer was very stressed because she wanted to move out and she wasn't sure how the landslide and the mud were going to affect getting her things out to my equipment. Carrying all of her items through the parking lot and down the steep road was not an option. I had to get my equipment up to her apartment.

The issue for me was that I had to back up what was a very steep road/hill and through the parking lot to get to the cement path, which led to the stairs up to my customer's apartment. The photo showing the main road and the road leading up to the apartment does not reveal the true extent of how steep the incline was. It took a number of tries but I was finally able to get my equipment up the road/hill and through the parking lot and back up past the mud to where we could load the customer's items.

Once my equipment was in place, my customer's stress level went down to zero because she knew we would be able to get her stuff loaded. It took a little over an hour, but my crew and I got everything aboard and headed to the drop off address. We finished the move in less than three hours and the customer was beyond happy, which of course is always my goal.

No "thumbs up" photo this time because I didn't want to bother the customer with it, but she did post a 5-star review on my Google page. She also generously tipped my guys, which I always appreciate because they work very hard for my customers. And for this move, they really went above and beyond. Ultimately, even a landslide and mud could not stop us.

After the move, we all went to the bar and ordered mudslides.

HAHA -- JUST KIDDING 😂

6/17/26 -- This is a move I did for a repeat customer. I moved most of his items back in February and he hired me again to move the rest of his stuff to his new house. Pictured are my guys, Deon and Jeremy, carrying the last item --a large, outdoor glass patio table -- which the customer (also pictured) wanted in the back of the house on the deck.

The customer's house was at least 4000 sq ft. Upstairs and downstairs, there were more than a dozen rooms, and the layout was amazing. Some parts of the house had glass partitions and delicate wood stairway bannisters, so we put covering over those areas to prevent damage. The backyard had an upper and lower deck that overlook the forest, and the landscaping was professionally done. Finally, the area was very quiet -- the entire time we were unloading, all we heard were birds and toads.

We finished the move in 3 hours but to be honest, I kind of wish it had lasted longer because it was just a great place to be working. Alas, my guys and I always finish jobs in as timely a manner as possible, so I guess the shorter time is on me and my crew. 👍💪

6/16/26 -- I was very fortunate to be the moving company for a mother and daughter over in Wadsworth. The daughter hired me to come to her house (pictured left) and take items from her walk-out basement and bring them to her mom's house. Items included a large couch, a sideboard, a large, heavy cabinet, a huge curio, living room chairs, a glass dining table and chairs, lamps, some smaller furniture, some odds and ends, and about 15 totes.

All of these items could only be removed once we moved other items in the basement around to get to each item. It was challenging but my guys and I did whatever was necessary to get these items out. The customer ended up with a much more organized basement after the items were removed for delivery.

At the mom's house, we brought all items inside and arranged them exactly how the customer wanted. For a few items, there was some disagreement between the mom and daughter as to where they should go, so we just waited patiently until a decision was made. Usually the mom won out. We thought it was hilarious.

The picture on the right is the dining room all set up. The glass top weighed a lot so we made sure to perfectly center it on the wood stand. I even asked the customer to confirm she was happy with the placement. Ultimately, she and her mom were both happy with the move overall, which earned me another double thumbs up.
👍👍👍👍 😁

6/8 -- This is a repeat customer. She hired me previously and called me again to pick up and deliver this bedframe and the nightstand. She said the bedframe is at least 80 years old.

In the photo it looks fairly simple to disassemble and reassemble. I didn't have any trouble disassembling it but reassembling it was a challenge. Each side has a metal rod that must be reattached precisely and then carefully tightened. There really isn't any wiggle room. And the front piece that holds the drawer fits tightly to the point that it has to be perfectly lined up and then bopped into place using the palm of your hand so it lines up with the rest of the bed support. It took a bit of time but I did get it all reassembled. Add two thumbs up for my efforts 👍👍
And add one happy customer. 😁

6/8 -- This very nice customer hired me to move this grandfather clock to her home. Prior to pick up, the customer had the pendulum and weights removed as well as the top. I thought I would need a helper but I decided to just do it myself.

I wrapped it from bottom to top with multiple blankets and was able to maneuver it at both locations and get it delivered and placed exactly where the customer wanted. I was sad when the customer put the top back on and the ceiling was too low to accommodate it. Her solution was that she is going to remove the legs so that the top fits back on. It really is a nice clock and adds a lot to the room its now in. 👍

I've been moving customers long distance since 2007. My goal has always been a smooth and stress-free move. I handle everything personally from start to finish and put a lot of time and effort into each move to ensure everything goes well for my customers.

I really enjoy doing these and helping people start a new chapter of their lives. And, of course, the scenery along the way is a nice perk.

This continues my post below about the long-distance move from Ohio to Tampa currently in progress. I left Ohio in the morning on 6/1 and arrived in Tampa at 10pm on 6/2. Unload is Thursday, 6/4.

5/31/26: My guys and I loaded a 26-foot U-Haul truck today for a move going from Hartville, Ohio to Tampa, Florida. I took this photo when the truck was about 90% loaded. We still had to load two couches, two beds, a dining room table, two living room chairs, and seven smaller chairs.

In case anyone is wondering, that large safe weighs 500 pounds. After the photo was taken, I used thick cardboard to surround the safe to protect it. Normally I load all of the heavy stuff forward, closest to the cab. For this move, I made the decision to load the safe toward the back for easier on and off. And this is not an issue at all for such a large and new truck with excellent suspension. Lastly, the bench in the photo fit perfectly in that spot and did not need to be wrapped. Items were placed in front of it that kept it in place and protected it.

The customer was concerned whether all of her items would fit. I Tetrised like a demon and it was close, but ultimately we were able to get every item on board. All of the boxes and bins are properly stacked and packed tight, and every item was protected properly. For certain furniture items and other fragile items, I used quilted blankets. The Uhaul blankets sufficed for the other items but I did use two Uhaul blankets on a couple of items for extra protection.
Even with lots of wrapping and disassembly of two beds and a table, we finished in 4 hours, 45 minutes. All items were loaded damage-free, and no damage to the property. 😇

I'll take some photos of the unload down in Bradenton and post them when I get back home. Weather forecast for Tampa for the unload: 85 degrees and mostly cloudy.
