Vigder Blanks Scott Vigder has served bassoon students, teachers and amateurs of the instrument

DAY 3 - Profiling, put back in water. DAY 4 - Shaping - Include center dot, let dry overnight. DAY 5 - Bevel, scoring.(modified Herzberg technique). Put in wate

DAY 6 - Forming on forming mandrel,with pin vises(Christlieb technique)Wrap with rubber band( # 64)-leave on overnight. DAY 7 - Unwrap rubber band,tighten 1st wire, put on 2nd & 3rd wires. DAY 8 - Tighten 1st, 2nd, 3rd wires. DAY 9 - Clip & tighten 3rd wire, file notches for thread, form turks head, dunk wrapping in glue. DAY 10 - Remove from reed blank drying rack, let dry for remainder of day. DAY 11 - Tighten 1st, 2nd wire, reaming , measure to clip tip. DAY 12 - Blade filing,Blade filing. DAY 13 - Blade filing,Blade filing. DAY 14 - Blade filing,Blade filing. DAY 15 - Final wire tightening, final reaming, rat tail file, sandpaper sides, final filing of sides,use Corey rule, upper 10 mm., La Barbe file, bevel knife , fold down first wire. DAY 16 - Final scrape, file on side tips, La Barbe file and final testing.
