Banks County Woman Arrested After Turning Numbered Pigs Loose in Walmart

COMMERCE, GA — Shoppers at the Commerce Walmart were thrown into confusion Saturday afternoon after a local woman allegedly released four pigs—each spray-painted with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5—into the store, triggering what authorities later described as “a logistical nightmare disguised as a math problem.”

The Incident
According to witnesses, 47-year-old Charlene Mixon entered the store pushing a buggy that appeared to be shaking and occasionally grunting. Employees assumed it was either a wobbly wheel or a normal Saturday.

I’ve been thinking deeply about something many of us were taught as children—and many walk away from as adults.
The idea goes something like this:
If God is real, and if moral truth exists, then evil didn’t begin with humans. It began with choice. Angels fell before people did. Evil wasn’t created—it was chosen. And from that moment on, the world became contested ground.
God gives free will because without choice:
love isn’t real
goodness isn’t meaningful
obedience is just programming
Adam & Eve weren’t about fruit.
They were about who gets to define good and evil.
From there, everything follows.
Evil doesn’t usually look like monsters—it looks like:
pride
resentment
justification
small compromises
The “battle for the soul” isn’t poetic language.
It’s the daily tension between truth and self-deception.
Then come the hardest questions—the ones that break faith for many people:
Why suffering?
Why innocent suffering?
Why doesn’t God just stop it?
Christianity doesn’t claim suffering is good.
It doesn’t say the innocent deserve pain.
It doesn’t say faith protects you from tragedy.
It says the world is genuinely broken—and that God does not stand outside that brokenness.
At the center of Christianity is the innocent suffering unjustly.
Not avoided.
Not explained away.
Entered.
That doesn’t erase pain.
But it challenges the lie that suffering means abandonment.
Doubt isn’t the enemy of faith.
Anger at God isn’t betrayal.
Silence and dishonesty are far more dangerous.
Faith after suffering is not the same faith as before—and it’s not supposed to be.

Mature faith says:
“Even if everything breaks, I am not alone.”
You don’t lose faith by asking hard questions.
You lose it by refusing to face them honestly.
If there is one moral truth—above culture, above opinion—then it demands something of us:
accountability
humility
restraint
courage
And maybe the real question isn’t “Is God fair?”
But “Who do we trust when certainty is gone?”
