I am a California but still filming the road every time 😆I just came back from a trip during spring break crossing the whole Highway 1 that was reopened and yes Everyone that visits Big Sur for the first time 🌊⛰️🌿 has the same reaction: “How is this even real?!” 😍
Between the crashing waves, dramatic cliffs, and endless coastal views, it’s the kind of place that makes you stop, breathe, and just take it all in. ✨
And the best part? Every trip feels different — new trails, hidden coves, and magical sunsets you’ll never forget. 🌅make sure your FOLLOW realworldmami for more epic California views

I just came back from a road trip ALL the way through highway 1 and they still there some try to destroy it but if you go soon you still can find them. Comment Calla and I will send you ALL the must stop in Big Sur like this that you need to know! Maybe these are the last days! If not SAVE this for next time!
The Calla Lilies in Big Sur are in full bloom, and it’s absolutely breathtaking! But please—be mindful of where you step and DO NOT pick the flowers.

A friend recently visited and saw someone plucking them… so frustrating! 😡 Nature is meant to be admired, not taken home. If you see someone picking them, kindly remind them to leave them be so everyone can enjoy this beauty. FOLLOW realworldmami for more California bucketlist and world exploring

📍 Calla Lily Valley – Big Sur
Here’s how to get there:
✅ Enter Garrapata State Park and pass the main parking area where most hikers stop.
✅ Drive about a mile further until you see a state park sign with an 18 on the gate—that’s where you park.
✅ Be careful! The pull-off areas can be muddy and slippery with loose dirt.
✅ Walk south on the trail until you spot the stairs leading down—the beach is right there too!

🚶‍♂️ What to Expect:
✔️ The trail down is short but can get muddy, so wear proper shoes.
✔️ Parking is roadside, and there are porta-potties at the trailhead.
✔️ The best time to visit is in late winter to early spring when the lilies are in peak bloom. NOW wait until rain is over
✔️ The sunset here is stunning, so if the flowers don’t impress you (which I doubt), the views will!

🌊🌿 Come with me to Garrapata Beach and hike to Calla Lily Valley! Be mindful of tides at this beach!!! Trust me, this spot is worth the stop! If you visit, let me know if the flowers are still blooming! 💛✨

✨ A Different Kind of Magic ✨Disney is magical, but if you have kids, you have to take them to experience California like this at least once. 🌲💫
📍Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks are full of adventures that don’t involve lines, overpriced snacks, or loud crowds. Just pure wonder.
Imagine them stepping inside Boyden Cavern, walking through a fallen giant, or staring up at the massive General Grant Tree.
💧 Start your day chasing waterfalls at Roaring River Falls or Grizzly Falls, then kayak or picnic by the peaceful waters of Hume Lake.🌲 Hike to Mist Falls for some of the most beautiful views in the park, and don’t miss the iconic Mark Twain Stump—where your kids can stand inside history.
The confidence they build from these simple but awe-inspiring moments? Priceless.
This is the kind of trip where time slows down. Where you breathe deeper. Where your kids look up instead of down. And where everyone remembers what adventure really feels like.
🧭 Don’t forget to FOLLOW realworldmami for more family adventures and SHARE this with someone who needs a nature reset. Because the outdoors? It’s a whole other kind of magic. ✨

Don’t be afraid to spend money traveling with your family.
Be afraid of always saying “later.”
Trips don’t have to be perfect or expensive. We don’t know where will be tomorrow.
They just have to be shared.
Your kids won’t remember the hotel.
They’ll remember the laughs, the little adventures, and how it felt to explore the world together.
Time moves fast, and these seasons don’t last forever.
If you’ve been waiting for the “right moment,” this is your reminder that now is already pretty good.
Take the trip. Make the memory.
You’ll never regret time spent together.Comment Trip and I will send you my list of international family budget friendly destinations. comment TRIP and I will send you my list of tips on how to make amazing bucket list reality with your family!

I can’t stop thinking how fast time flies and I started traveling with my kids when they were 4 months old and this is something I can assure you go in the adventures. A few years from now, your kids won’t remember how much the trip cost. They’ll remember how it felt — the awe of seeing something new, the excitement of discovering hidden places, the laughter in between, and the quiet moments you shared along the way. 🌍✨
They’ll remember sunsets that stopped them in their tracks, wildlife spotted together, getting lost on a new trail, and feeling safe, curious, and connected as a family. 🤍
Travel as much as you can with your family while you can… and then travel some more. Every trip sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and plants a lifelong love for the world in your kids.
💡 Budget travel tip: Travel in the off-season and stay flexible—let the destination choose you. Cheaper flights, fewer crowds, and honestly… a better experience. ✈️

📌 Save for your next Bay Area coast trip 📌
Devil’s Slide is one of those dramatic California coast spots that makes you understand why Highway 1 is so iconic. It’s located between Pacifica and Montara, just north of Half Moon Bay, and the views are seriously stunning — steep cliffs, crashing waves, and that wild Pacific Ocean energy.
What makes this place even more interesting is that the trail used to be part of Highway 1. Because the area was so prone to landslides, the road was eventually rerouted through the Tom Lantos tunnels, and the old highway became the paved Devil’s Slide Trail.
Today, it’s a short and scenic coastal walk — about 1.3 miles — with ocean overlooks, benches, and plenty of spots to stop and take in the view. It’s open to walkers and cyclists, and it’s one of those easy Bay Area adventures that feels way more dramatic than the effort it takes to get there.
But this is definitely a place where you need to respect the signs. The cliffs are unstable and dangerous, and people have fallen here before, so stay behind the barriers and don’t try to climb down toward the edge. The views are amazing from the trail — no risky photo is worth it.
I’d pair this with Pacifica, Gray Whale Cove, Montara State Beach, or Half Moon Bay for the perfect little coastal day trip. Go on a clear morning or near sunset if you can, but remember the fog can show up fast.
Would you visit Devil’s Slide?
