Clean Ayr attended Mansfield Oil’s DeliveryONE (D1) Expo at the Ga***rd Opryland in Nashville, TN. “The D1 National Distribution Network Annual Conference and Expo was a great opportunity to meet with equipment suppliers and logistics providers. DEF Urea Testing

We have had a lot of rain in North Texas this Winter/Spring and water is a problem for DEF. It is important for fleets to have non-diluted DEF. It is impossible to tell just by looking at the DEF in your tote or drum if it has the right percentage of urea, or if it has been contaminated with water. The International Standards Organization (ISO 22241-1) for DEF is precise: 32.5% aqueous urea and 67.5% deionized water. Nothing else may be added or taken away. If you have not been getting your DEF from Clean Ayr, it might be a good idea to have it tested.

Clean Ayr offers DEF testing with its MISCO 202 Digital DEF Refractometers. A deviation of the urea as small as +/-0.7% can prevent a DEF fluid from meeting the mandated American Petroleum Institute and EPA specifications. The MISCO 202 units have a dual scale refractometer and provide testing with a DEF concentration scale and a refractive index scale. The testers use high-index sapphire optics (next hardest substance to diamond) with a 1000-unit detector array which are accurate to +/-0.1%. Thus, they are more accurate as well as fast.
