The Sierra Club and a coalition of groups advocating investment in railway infrastructure for the expansion of passenger rail, are hosting events in communities along important railroad corridors for the purpose of informing residents and businesses on progress.

The next informational forum will be held at CEBE. Tony Donovan of the Maine Rail Transit Coalition and Sierra Club Maine will lead a presentation with Sierra Club member Paul Weiss.

Everyone is invited to this free event. We encourage attendance from those who have questions or would like to participate in continuing advocacy on this important initiative.

The abrupt scheduling of Auburn City Council’s vote to RESCIND approved, matched funding for exploring passenger rail reinforces Auburn’s tentativeness regarding its future, but also informs businesses, investors and its residents that Auburn cannot be trusted to honor its commitments and keep its word.
