When our Hujjaj return home, they bring back more than memories—they return with hearts touched by the mercy of Allah.
They stood on the plains of Arafah, raised their hands in earnest du’a, circled the Ka’bah, and walked in the footsteps of the Prophets. Their journey was not merely a physical one; it was a journey of faith, repentance, and renewal.
As family and friends, we often welcome them with gifts, meals, and celebrations. Yet one of the greatest gifts we can seek from them is their sincere du’a.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When you meet a Haji, greet him, shake his hand, and ask him to seek forgiveness for you before he enters his home.”
(Musnad Ahmad)
Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) would supplicate for returning pilgrims with these beautiful words:
قَبِلَ اللَّهُ حَجَّكَ وَغَفَرَ ذَنْبَكَ وَأَخْلَفَ نَفَقَتَكَ
“May Allah accept your Hajj, forgive your sins, and replace what you spent with something better.”
(Al-Tabarani)
A pilgrim may return carrying reflections, lessons, and spiritual moments that words cannot fully describe. Welcome them with warmth, listen to their experiences, and cherish the opportunity to ask them to remember you in their prayers.
The Prophet ﷺ also made this du’a:
“O Allah, forgive the Haji and forgive the one for whom the Haji seeks forgiveness.”
(Mustadrak al-Hakim)
What a beautiful reminder that the blessings of Hajj extend beyond the pilgrim and reach those around them as well.
And let us never forget:
“An accepted Hajj has no reward except Paradise.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)
May Allah accept the Hajj of all pilgrims, preserve the light of faith in their hearts, and grant each of us the honor of visiting His Sacred House. Ameen. 🤍
Please keep our Hujjaj in your du’as and ask them to remember you in theirs. 🕋❤️
