⚡️🌅 August flashed by for us at Moon Hitch Wagon Co.!

We shared the open highway, unchurned paths, and the beautiful streets of Buffalo with some of our favorite people and organizations over a span of 23 operating days!

In August we:
• Took out 21 covered wagon tours, including SIX sold-out Fort Phil Kearny Western Frontier Tours!
• Made lasting highlight reel memories for 186 people on those 21 tours!
• Had the great honor of leading the State Fair Parade as the Grand Marshals with our friends at the Wyoming Historical Society.
• Proudly locked arms with the Range War Rodeo gang for their season finale local rodeo
• Gave dozens of families added memories during the Saturdays in the Square summer concert series thanks to our loyal sponsor, Coda Glass.

To everyone who climbed aboard, cheered us on from the sidelines, partnered with us, or shared in Wyoming's history this month—thank you. Your support keeps this wagon a'rolling, and we can't wait to see who we meet during September and October. 🍂🐴🌾

Thank you Coda Glass, ANB Bank, Visit Buffalo WY, Buffalo KOA Journey, Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site, Fort Phil Kearny Bozeman Trail Association, Wyoming Historical Society, Johnson County Historical Society, WY, and Don Pfister/Calf Creek Cattle Co. for your generous support and partnership!

✨️ This Sunday and Monday at Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site!

Explore 1866 Fort Phil Kearny exclusively from the Moon Hitch covered wagon as our guides bring the history beneath the soil to life!

Nestled at the foot of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains, Fort Phil Kearny was once the largest and most heavily defended fort on the Bozeman Trail. Built from more than 4,000 logs and sprawling across 17 acres, the post stood at the center of a turbulent chapter in Western history.

Known to Native tribes as the “hated post on the Little Piney,” the fort became a focal point of Red Cloud’s War and witnessed some of the most significant conflicts of the Indian Wars, including the Fetterman Fight and Wagon Box Fight.

As our wagon rolls across the historic grounds, our guides will bring the people, struggles, and stories buried beneath this soil back to life. Discover how a fort built to protect travelers and miners became one of the most contested places on the frontier—and why its legacy still echoes across the Wyoming landscape today.

Join us for a journey through history where every wheel turn reveals another chapter of the American West.

Guests are invited to explore the NEW Interpretive Center as part of this ticketed experience as an extended perk with your ticket purchase!

Brought to you in collaboration with Fort Phil Kearny Bozeman Trail Association and Moon Hitch Wagon Co.

🎟 Book your living history experience at FPKtours.eventbrite.com or at moonhitch.com
