🌴 A LITTLE REALITY CHECK ABOUT THE RESORTS I POST...
I LOVE when someone messages me and says, "I saw that resort you posted and I NEED to go there."
That's exactly why I share them! I want to give you ideas. I want you to see resorts and destinations you may have never heard of. I want you to find the honeymoon spot, family resort or anniversary trip that makes you immediately start checking your calendar.
But I also want to set some expectations: A lot of the resorts I post are not budget trips.
I post beautiful all-inclusives. Luxury resorts. Swim-up suites. Butler rooms. Incredible family resorts. Adults-only honeymoon resorts. Places with amazing beaches, great food, gorgeous pools and tons included.
Those things come with a price tag. And travel in general has gotten EXPENSIVE. Flights are expensive. Resorts are expensive. Transfers, excursions and insurance add up. Then throw in Christmas, February break, spring break or another high-demand travel week and prices can climb even higher.
I don't set those prices. I wish I did. 😂 What I CAN do is look at the entire picture and try to find the best VALUE for your specific trip.
Sometimes that means changing the dates by a day. Sometimes Toronto has a much better flight than Buffalo. Sometimes the room category you originally wanted isn't worth the extra $1,500. Sometimes I know another resort that gives you almost everything you loved about the first one for significantly less.
And sometimes the answer is simply: this particular trip costs more than the budget allows. That's okay too.
And this is why your budget matters SO much when we start planning. It's actually something I require from my clients.
If you tell me you have a $3,000 budget but you want to go to a unique Caribbean island, stay at a beautiful all-inclusive resort, fly during a specific week and have everything included...I may have to tell you that trip simply does not exist at that budget.
Some islands have dozens and dozens of all-inclusive resorts at every price point. Others have very few good all-inclusive options, and the ones they DO have are expensive. Sometimes airfare alone takes up a huge portion of the budget. Sometimes your travel dates are the biggest factor.
That doesn't mean we can't find you a great vacation. It means we may need to change something. Maybe we choose a different destination. Maybe we look at a traditional hotel instead of all-inclusive. Maybe we adjust the dates. Maybe we increase the budget.
I will always look for the best value I can find for you, but I can't make a $7,000 trip cost $3,000.
Sometimes the trip you have pictured and the budget you've set simply don't match — and part of my job is to tell you that, explain why, and help you figure out what DOES work.
I will always look for a great deal. I will compare options. I will look at different suppliers, flights, dates and room categories when it makes sense. But "great deal" and "cheap" are not always the same thing. A $7,000 trip that normally costs $9,000 is a GREAT deal. It's also still a $7,000 trip.
So please keep using my posts as inspiration. Save the resorts. Send them to your spouse. Tag your best friend. Message me and say, "I WANT THIS." 😂🌴
Just know that when you see me posting some incredible resort with a rooftop pool, private plunge pool and 12 restaurants...we may need a little more than $3,000 to make it happen.
This isn't meant to target anyone or make anyone feel bad. It's an important reminder about setting your travel expectations. That's my job 😊 Comment if you know the true luxury resort below 👇🏻
