Why is our race unique? Our race is unique because the course is located on OLD MINE LAND. This provides a style of riding that is specific to the coal region. Many people describe the beginner/intermediate course to have a "BMX" style feel and flow. The expert/endurance course contains large elevation gains and tight, twisty ridge top single track tying back into the famous beginner/intermediate lower loop. Both courses are single speed friendly. What is the course like? The beginner/intermediate/expert course is predominately singletrack, but this is combined with some doubletrack. It has a few sections of short climbing, tight twisty singletrack, moderate rocky sections combined with some mud, a few fun drops. How is the race setup? The beginner/intermediate/exert race is setup to be a LAP race. Each lap is 8 miles in distance and traverses terrain conducive to Northeastern Pennsylvania. Are there course pre-rides? NO COURSE PRE-RIDES! Since our trails lie on land owned by the Reading Anthracite Company, all course pre-riding is prohibited based on liability. For more information please email: [email protected]
