When it comes to moving large area rugs, most people make the mistake of rolling them with the "pretty side" facing out. Worse yet, some fold them up! Folding causes permanent creases, and rolling them pile-side out exposes those delicate fibers to dust, dirt, and friction during the trip.

1️⃣ Flip it over: Always roll your rug with the backing facing out to protect the design and pile fibers.

It is a common mistake to grab the biggest box for heavy items like books or canned goods to "get it all over with." This is a recipe for disaster.
Small Boxes: Use these for books, tools, and heavy kitchenware. A small box full of books is manageable; a large box full of books is a 100-pound hazard that often results in the bottom falling out or a mover straining their back.
Large Boxes: Use these for pillows, blankets, towels, and clothing. These items take up space but weigh very little, making the large boxes easy to stack without crushing the ones underneath.
