🐾 Meet the Faces of Soul Dog Movers 🐾

This is Chris.

Chris brings over 15 years of moving experience to Soul Dog Movers. He even handled moves in Washington, DC while serving in the United States Air Force. After his service, Chris owned and operated All That Matters Moving in the Little Rock area for 10 years.

In June of last year, we closed that chapter. Times had changed — and after much prayer and thoughtful consideration — we felt called to begin again with a new vision and a new purpose.

Now, meet Amanda.

While Amanda doesn’t come from the moving industry, she brings years of experience as a Sales & Marketing Director in the hotel industry, along with a strong background in entrepreneurship. She is also Chris’s partner in every part of this journey.

Together, Chris and Amanda share a vision that is bigger than just moving boxes.

They want to:

✨ Make every move less stressful and more personal

Animals are at the heart of their lives. If you know Chris and Amanda, you know they are passionate about rescue animals. Amanda lovingly jokes that she’s a “rescue fail” — meaning the animals they rescue become permanent members of the family.

Right now, their home is filled with love from:

🐱 3 cats
🐷 A mini pig named Axel Rose

Their faith is central to their lives, and they believe in treating people the way they would want to be treated — with kindness, respect, and compassion.

Moving Tip from Your Movers 📦

If you’re packing your own boxes before the movers arrive, here are a few simple tips that will make your move faster and smoother:

• Group boxes by room. For example, put all the kitchen boxes in the middle of the kitchen floor and label them “Kitchen.” Do the same for bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. This helps the movers know exactly where things belong instead of searching through the house like an Easter egg hunt. But… put the name of the room the items are going into. Not the items they are. What if the new house does not have an office? Make sure they know the rooms they will be GOING to, not necessarily coming from.

• Clearly label fragile items. If something is breakable, write “FRAGILE” on the side of the box so movers can handle it with extra care.

• Use medium-sized boxes. Many people choose large boxes thinking they can pack more, but they often become too heavy and harder to move. Medium boxes are usually the best and safest option.

The larger boxes are meant for pillows, blankets.

Here are a few of the most common questions we get at our moving company and the answers that will help make your move easier. 🚚📦

1. Can I leave items in my dresser or nightstand drawers?
Yes — but only soft, lightweight items like clothing or light blankets.

Please do not leave heavy items such as books or anything with weight in the drawers. When the truck is moving, the vibration can cause the drawers to shift or break down, and by the time we arrive everything may have slid into the bottom drawer.

2. What should I do with clothes that are hanging in my closet?
One of my favorite tricks is using large trash bags.

• Gather several hangers together
• Wrap the tops together with wire or a twist tie
• Slide a large trash bag over the clothes
• Tie it at the bottom

I personally don’t love wardrobe boxes. They take up space, sometimes make clothes smell, and you usually can’t fit as many items in them.

If you can, lay the bagged clothes across the back seat of your car so they stay nice and don’t wrinkle. If they need to go in the truck, we can load them the same way.

3. Can I leave things in my refrigerator?
If we are moving less than five miles, you can leave items like fruit in the refrigerator drawers (apples, oranges, etc.).

For longer moves, I recommend putting your food in an ice chest.
Also make sure the water line is disconnected so the filter doesn’t leak.

When we move your refrigerator, it will usually be one of the last items on the truck and one of the first items off, so we can plug it in quickly and you can put your food back from the cooler.

I want to share the story behind our moving company.

In 2015, Chris and I opened our first moving company called All That Matters Moving. At the time, I had left my job in hotels and Chris left his corp job so we could start our own business. One of the biggest reasons we did it was so I could spend more time with my mom after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

The name All That Matters actually came from something my mom used to say: “All that matters is making sure people are happy.” That became the heart behind our company.

Over the next few years, our business was incredible. We met so many amazing people and traveled all over the United States helping families move. We completed thousands of moves, and we are so grateful for every person who trusted us.

But like many businesses, 2020 and COVID changed a lot of things. The moving industry changed, customers changed, and the way people worked changed. We kept the business going for several more years, but in June of 2025 we made the hard decision to close the doors.

This past year has brought a lot of changes for Chris and me. After a lot of talking and praying, we decided that moving people is still something we love to do and something we’re good at.

So we are starting again.

Our new company is called Soul Dawg Movers. We chose that name because Chris and I both share a deep love for dogs, and the word “soul” reflects our Christian faith and our desire to make sure we are living and working the way God wants us to.

While the name is different, the people are the same. We still bring over 10 years of experience and thousands of successful moves with us.

The biggest difference now is our heart behind the business. Our views and priorities have changed, and we want to do more for our community than we ever have before.

Our motto is simple:
If we are blessed, we want to bless others.

One of the things we are very excited about with SOUL DAWG Movers is being able to support animal shelters and rescues in our community. ❤️🐶

If you know of a local rescue or animal shelter, please send us their information! Each month we are going to choose one shelter or rescue to support.

Here’s how it works:

From the first day of the month to the last day of the month, we will take 10% from every move we complete and place it into a donation envelope.

At the end of the month, we will personally deliver that donation from SOUL DAWG Movers to the shelter or rescue we selected.

We truly believe in standing behind what we say, and we are so excited to help people move while also helping dogs in the process. 🐾

Even though they’re with their family, they’re leaving behind all the smells and spaces they’ve always known. One small thing that can make a big difference is bringing something that smells like home for them.

Pack one of their favorite blankets, toys, or even an old sweatshirt that smells like you, and put it out right away when you arrive at your new house. 🏡
