Every exterior contractor in South Central PA is working against the same deadline. It is not a client deadline.
Concrete, masonry, roofing, siding, paving, and exterior painting all have a temperature floor.
Once overnight lows sit in the thirties, that work stops. September to mid November is compressed.
The biggest time loss is not the work. It is the movement:
- Loading a trailer every morning
- Unloading it every night
- Driving back to the shop for material staged at the wrong site
- Hunting the tool that ended up in the wrong truck
A container staged at an active multi week site removes most of it.
Thirty minutes back in the morning and thirty at night, four man crew, five days.
That is twenty labor hours a week. In a season this short, that is a whole extra job.
