Princess Cruises is making a major investment in its future by ordering three brand-new ships from Fincantieri, with deliveries planned for 2035, 2038, and 2039. These additions are expected to strengthen Princess Cruises’ position in the global cruise market while helping attract the next generation of cruisers.

The new ships will use advanced dual-fuel engines powered mainly by LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the cruise industry’s move toward cleaner operations. This gives Princess another step forward in environmental sustainability.

Guests can also expect a fresh new design concept. While keeping the classic Princess style many travelers love, these ships will introduce redesigned outdoor spaces, updated staterooms, and new Piazza areas. Each ship is expected to carry around 4,700 passengers, offering more space and modern features for travelers worldwide.

This order also continues the strong relationship between Princess Cruises and Fincantieri, providing long-term work for the shipbuilder and supporting its future growth plans.

We’re just tying up at Grand Turk and started things off with breakfast at the Lido Buffet. I stuck with my four go-to staples—eggs, bacon, sausage, and hashbrowns. Overall it was very good… only thing is the sausage could’ve been a little warmer.

Diamond Luncheon was excellent today. We enjoyed the teriyaki pork bites, filet mignon, and chocolate crème—everything was delicious, especially the filet. It was great being able to share the experience with Cory and Keizer as well.

Planning a family trip abroad? Now’s a great time to double check your children’s passports.

Children’s passports are only valid for 5 years, not 10 like adult passports. If your child got their passport in 2021 or earlier, it’s likely time to renew.

Traffic Advisory ⚠️

Beginning Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29, 2026, please expect delays when entering PortMiami via the PortMiami Bridge due to the Music Festival. It is recommended passengers use the PortMiami Tunnel.

PortMiami operations remain normal.

A rare visitor made a stop in Norfolk today as the Oceania Allura spent time in port as part of her current sailing.

This luxury cruise ship is on a 14 night itinerary that began in Miami, made a stop in Charleston, and is now visiting Norfolk before continuing on to Bermuda.

The Oceania Allura is one of the newest ships at sea, debuting in 2025, and carries about 1200 guests with roughly 800 crew members. She measures around 825 feet in length and is known for a more upscale, small ship experience.

She is scheduled to be in Norfolk overnight, giving passengers extra time to explore the area before continuing her journey to Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda.

Always cool to see something a little different visiting our port.
