Hey all you wonderful hardworking road warrior pilot car/escort drivers!
1) thank you all for how hard you work. In the heat, in the cold, early, late… thank you!
I do have a request but wanted to acknowledge you all.
When someone, me- another broker- a trucking company… whomever, posts a load in the load board, be mindful of the following.
1) we might have several loads posted. If you respond “I’m available for this load” or “how much does this pay” or anything not identifying which load you are inquiring about you will probably get a simple “it’s covered” as a response. Not being cheeky, but we don’t have time to ask each of the 75 people who respond in the first 20 seconds which load they are asking about.

I know you are trying to be first, but while I can only speak for myself, I start with the first responder who gives me the information I need without my having to do additional work.
2) if it says “text only” please don’t call. We put text only for a reason. If a company puts text only and you call… it appears that you can’t follow simple instructions-and while I’m not trying to be mean or condescending, it is the first thing that flashes through my mind.
3) if you don’t know what a pilot car packet is or don’t have one readily available you haven’t been escorting long enough to be hired to work with oversized loads. We need your drivers license, insurance acord, any certifications you have, a W-9 and the information we require to get you paid.
4) Be honest about your experience level. We know our drivers. The drivers know y’all have to learn. If you are honest we can put you with drivers that don’t mind a rookie. If you show up, screw up because you fudged your experience level at best you will get black listed… at worst you get someone killed. This line of work is dangerous.
