Enjoy this professionally installed and maintained mooring buoy off the West shore of Gig Harbor (Rosedale) across from Raft Island.

Just south of Lay Inlet, this moorage is perfect for the boater who is looking for a peaceful, protected residential area to tie up.

If you're cruising the Upper Cape or Vineyard Sound this fall, a few of these restaurants are worth planning a stop around.

The Chart Room sits on a converted barge tucked inside Kingman Yacht Center in Cataumet - sunset views, seafood, and none of the polish. The Landfall in Woods Hole has been family-run for 70 years and is built from wood salvaged off ships. Baxter's Boathouse was built out over the water in Hyannis.

Over on the Vineyard, Nancy's in Oak Bluffs has been going since 1960, and the Black Dog Tavern in Vineyard Haven since 1969. Call ahead on dock space.

Calling all fishers! This tranquil moorage is waiting for you. 🎣🌊

Located on the northeast side of Henderson inlet about a quarter of the way down, this moorage offers great fishing opportunities year-round. Orcas also make appearances throughout the year, but more frequently in the autumn months.

Buoy can accommodate sailboats up to 50 feet and powerboat up to 45 feet.

There is more of Puget Sound to explore than the places that get written about the most, and Case Inlet is a great example.

Bruce Bateau recently made this observation in 48 North. He highlighted Case Inlet as worth our attention and we agree. In contrast to the San Juans, that get plenty of deserved attention and coverage in the press and on social media, Case Inlet is a quieter part of the Sound with its own characteristic beauty. It's closer to Olympia and Tacoma than to Seattle, and features boating destinations like McMicken Island, Joemma Beach, Stretch Island and Herron Island that offer peaceful respites from the more busy parts of the Sound.

The next time you're planning a voyage through Case Inlet, consider stopping and enjoying the peacefulness at one of the OnBuoy host moorages there, including a Northeast Herron Island buoy and another further north near Vaughn Bay. For a sailor passing through, these are options for a possible stop to rest your eyes where otherwise you'd have to keep moving or stop and set the hook.

What if helping boaters find moorage could also help protect our waterways?

That's one of the ideas I'll be discussing as a guest on the upcoming Argo Navigation Live webcast.

When guest moorage is difficult to find, boaters often end up relying on crowded anchorages. Meanwhile, thousands of private docks, slips, and mooring buoys sit empty on any given night.

At OnBuoy, we believe there's a better way.

Nothing like moorage with a view! 🌊⛵️

Located at the entrance to Eagle Harbor, near the ferry terminal, this moorage comes with incredible views of Mount Rainer.

A great overnight option for boaters heading north or south along Bainbridge Island.

There’s also plenty to do in this area- you can take your tender to Hawley Park, about 1/4 mile at high tide. From there, Winslow is about a 1/3 mile walk.

The buoy was professionally installed and maintained annually, offering boaters a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to dropping anchor.
